A Birthday celebration!

Saturday November 24th, we celebrate Andrew's 4th Birthday with Friends and Family!

My baby boy sure loves his cake ( and 7up ) !

We could not really have asked for a better day. It was slightly windy but no rain.

Thank you Team!

Last Wednesday, 2 of my co-workers ( one of which is a good friend outside of work) Chai and Dianna threw me a little baby shower if you will. It was very sweet of them and I was very thankful to all my co-workers that were able to contribute to this. They got a big chocolate cake, which was rich and delicious, And all pitched in to get me a $75.00 gift card to Target! WoW! I am truely greatful to have co-workers that care and are so thoughtful! We have a big team, half of which I unfortuantely do not know so well with the hours I work and all the agents that can come and go. However, many of them have been on the team for years, as long as I if not longer! So, thanks Team for everything, I am greatful!

I have decided to put the gift card toward the crib, since we are buying a new one for Luke.

Bee Movie

Friday, we decided to take Andrew to see the bee movie. He has seen the previews and has mentioned he wants to see it. Last movie we saw was Nightmare before christmas in 3D, he sat through that and pretty much eat a meduim bag of popcorn with a little bit of help from mommy and daddy. This time he was squirmy and moving around a lot. So, the movie did not capture his attention like ones he really loves.

I thought it was okay, certainly not as attention getting as Cars ( for me at least ). I wouldn't buy it, lets just say that. It was just "cute".

Pentagon.....WHAT?

I am so excited right now I have to blog this. My friend Christina, whom I have known for MANY years. I believe we met in 5th grade. We have been friends all these years. Granted we are all very busy and do not get to really spend the time together we would all like.. you know school, kids ect. I think they call it responsibility these days? =). Anyways, she is just one of those girls you can tell is a wholesome , kind and caring person. Her family is like that too. And after all these years she has not changed the way she is. She is actually co-hosting my baby shower, so if you see here there congratulate her! Read on and you will learn why!

So, Christina has been in school pretty much as long as I have known her. She is always super busy with classes and so on. She has been doing an internship at the capitol and recently got to meet the president of the united states. Now, although I am not a fan of our president, what an honour it is just to meet the president of the united states, right? She was there for a breakfast/speech if I recall correctly. She mentioned while she was there she got some business cards from some really powerful people.

This is a pic of Mr. President himself that was taken by my friend Christina, right before he called her "pretty Lady" =)

So, to the point of my blog. I have recenlty been informed that Christina has been offered a PAID internship at the Pentagon in the media/public relations bureau ! Crazy right ??! BIG - HUGE! Her internship at the Capital is not currently paid, however, the experience for her is priceless I am sure. This is what she has been working for all these years. All the hard work and sacrifices she has made and long sleepless night could be paid off! I am so happy for her and proud. I just had to take time out and blog about it.

Finger Fixed!

After ( I don't know how many years) , Daddy finally decided it was time to get his finger put back in place. It had been dislocated for many many years. It is his right middle finger. For as long as I've known him, it has been out of place and longer than all his other fingers. He had a mark to remember from the ball game he played that day.

Friday morning mama was up before the birds getting ready to take him in for his big day. We had to be there at 6am which meant I had to get him be 5am. I was up like at 3:30 getting ready so I could leave no later than 4:15. I made my stop at the 24 hour Starbucks by 99 and got my seasonal Venti Gingerbread Latte. They just started serving it Nov 1. I normally would not get a Venti. But I knew todays event would call for it. I got to his parents pretty early, surprisingly I was wide awake and felt great.

We headed to Roseville. It was an outpatient operation so I did not have to plow the hospital halls. We were early there too so I stopped to get some breakfast. I felt bad for Steven, he had not had anything since 9pm the night before and I know he was starving. Daddy is a huge breakfast person , it is his favorite meal of the day, I know it was killing him to sit with an empty tummy.

We got all signed in , and no sooner did he sit down and I got the the bathroom, they called him back. It was the normal patient prep. He got changed, asked him a million questions , a milltion times as each person made there round. And the fun part. The IV =) He got all hooked up and ready to go. It was different watching someone else, I am the one so used to getting poked and magled. The one thing I have to say is I have never seen such awesome care. And I mean all around. Every single person that was caring for him was awesome, there was not a bad mean person in between the process. I was very please with everything.

Surgery took about 1 1/2 hours. When they called me back they already had him sitting in the chair. He was still coming out of the anesthesia, and I must say he was so precious, he has never had surgery before, meaning he has never been under anesthesia. He was definitely enjoying his cozy comfortable state =) He just occasionally looked at me with a nice smile on his face.

He has a follow up apt Monday to have the bandages and little cast removed which will then be replaced by a splint. I have been calling him my one handed bandit =), I will spare the embarrassment as I did manage to capture one pic =)

Where's Waldo... er Andrew?

This is Andrew's idea of a relaxing evening. I don't have it figured out yet but Andrew LOVES building forts, and "rolling" around the floor on blankets. As soon as I was done folding a load of laundry he was more than thrilled to see I had left the basket on the floor while putting them away. He immediately put it to good use!

Happy Halloween

Please excuse the quality of the pictures. For some reason the lighting was not agreeing with my camera and not off of the came out as great or as nice as I wanted, hence I did not bother to take a lot of snap shots.

We started the day with baking the cake. This way it had time to cool. I make awesome cakes, but since I do not have my baking stuff and I am not familiar with my mom's oven, I did not come out as awesome as it normally does. However, it still did not stop ANYONE from eating it. I mean chocolate is chocolate, right? Even if it is a little dry. =)

Since I was a solo pumpkin carver this year, I only did the one. Silly me I forgot to get a pic of the finished product.
