3 is the magic number

Today our little man turned 3! Where did the past 3 years go? I feel like it was just yesterday that we were trying to conceive him.

Luke, your such a goof ball! Your strong willed, stubborn and know exactly what you want. You have no problem tell us how it's. You have the silliest laugh and currently are on your way to being diaper free. You have been doing great and get better with each day. You love Batman, Iron man and John Cena.. You are easy going for the most part and love playing with Andrew, who you call Doo doo. The smiles you give me daily are endless! You love adventure and are fearless there's nothing that will stop you!

Happy Birthday, booger, we love you!

Look who's 7?!?

On Sunday, my first born, my baby ( he will always be my baby ) turned 7! I'm not sure how this could be since I feel as if I JUST had him, but I guess that's how the years go, right?

Originally, I was planning for a very low key end of the year - no party! But how can I NOT have a party! I got an ear full for it and really didn't feel like doing a big huge partly like we normally do, was too late to plan something like that at this point anyways. Thus we compromise. 10 friends were chosen ( a very hard task for a little boy ) and a very small WWE themed party was born.
Almost everyone came to celebrate Andrew's special day with him Both Set's of Grandparent's and Aunt, Uncle and cousin, Alone with 9 buddies.

It was hard to tell kids, majority of which were boys, that there will be no wrestling at a wrestling party. We had a 2 hours block to do face painting ( thanks to my bestie Stephanie) for volunteering for this task! We made WWE wrestling belts and played pin the hate on Undertaker, Andrew's favorite wrestler. Kids didn't seem to want to eat much, which was fine, but left empty time for the boys to get in trouble wrestling. We closed the party with cake and presents! It was a fantastic way to spend a rainy cold Saturday.

I love you Andrew, with all my heart. My life changed in amazing ways I never thought possible the day I saw you enter the world. You are the light of my life and I can't wait to see you grow up into a young man!

Happy Birthday, Love Mom, Dad & Lukie

Celebrate!

Today is my husband's Birthday! And being an adult does not mean he gets anything less than what the kids would on their special day! I love doing extra special things to make that awesome!

I had a few things lined up and all turned out well.I requested half the night off so I could actually sit and eat with him. The menu included : Spaghetti, salad and garlic bread. And no B-day is complete without some kind of sweet treat!

I decided to do something other than cake. I had seen this cupcake place some time ago called Cupcake Craving and thought we would give it a try. I ordered Brownie Delight ( just came out yesterday, and chocolate fix. They did not disappoint, absolutely delicious! I almost passed out when I walked into the place it smelled so good! I can't even describe it. Who knew gourmet cupcakes could smell better than Betty Crocker! We will be returning to try the #1 seller, red Velvet Rescue, among many others I am sure.

While today was Daddy's special day, Luke seemed to be the center of attention during treat time. Luke's first B-day did not go so well with the introduction of a yummy hunk of B-day cake for him to dive into. So, today I thought I would allow him to have a mini experience. I gave him half of a cupcake on his tray. By his reaction you would think I plopped a gooey icky worm down. He puckered his little birdy lips and began "chirping" at it with curiosity. After touching and poking  the cupcake several times to figure out what it's ( pulling his hand back with hesitation ) he finally managed to pick up a chunk, it was at that moment he seemed to finally realize what it was and I guess you can say the rest is history. Luckily I got some awesome shots of him devouring it.

Luke, sharing some of the left over frosting with daddy

Look at that smile! It was well worth the mess!

This is serious business!

I love how he has his feet, they were like that the whole time!

Bitter Sweet

Ahhhh, what better thing to do on your birthday than to blog? Well, I can't really say it's going to top the hot date tonight I have with my hubby for some Sushi dinner, but for now, as I wait until that time, this will have to do. So, far it's just your ordinary day. Got up, before I was ready ( which I'm never ready )took Andrew to school, met my Grandma for some breakfast at Crepe Escape, and then headed back for my Costco trip. My Grandmother, as an extended birthday present, offered to follow me back to the house and watch Luke while I go. Hey! I'm a simple girl, or so I like to think. And if she wants to watch Luke for me so I can go to Costco alone ( key word ) Then I'll take it! It's hard to get the shopping done when I have a monkey in the front of the cart constantly trying to escape! If I time it right, I can get there when the sample's start, and that usually helps tame him only long enough. That and the occasionally conversation with the adorable elderly lady who thinks he is the cutest thing.

Anyways, totally getting off  track here. I can't say that I feel a day older. That is normally one of the things that people ask, " So, do you feel any older" No! Thank god. I don't feel any older than I did at 11pm last night. But I can say I learn something new on this 27th year I celebrate life. Don't get me wrong here. I don't expect every person I know to stop what they have planned today, call me and wish me a Happy Birthday. Lord knows I can barely remember to call my Mom. But it amazes me the people who did take the time to say Happy Birthday. Either leaving me a message or comment via Myspace or Facebook, or even sending me an email! But what most of the people have in common that actually did one of the above, is I either hardly know them on a personal level or I have just got to know over the recent months/year. Andrew's T-ball coach, actually sent me an email. I was thrown and thought it was the most thoughtful thing ever! Maybe it's silly that I am thinking so much about this? But, really folks.. I have aunts and Uncle's that don't email or call me, and here I have new friends  (or blogger buddies) I have known months or even less sending me the sweetest messages. My neighbor even sent me a message! It really warms my heart. As cheeseball-ish as it sounds, it does! And I replied to each and every one of them personally! It makes my efforts of trying to meet new people and making new friends, and simply buying a house in a new neighborhood and meeting tons of wonderful new people so awesome!  I am not sure if anyone may know what I mean by saying all that or know how great it feels. But apart of blogging is being able to express yourself and get your thoughts down, so I did! =) It's all really bitter sweet!

As for this evening, Hubby is taking out for a Sushi dinner ( per request ) I recruited our niece around the corner to come and watch Andrew. It's going to be a first, and I am have no doubts it will go well. And if it does, we may just need to use her more often and see some movies! Thanks Bianca! =D

Happy Birthday Emma Lou!

It seems like just yesterday when I first met Emma. She was only 2-3 years old and as cute as can be. Today, I am happy to say she is my niece. I married into a wonderful family and have always loved her as if she was my very own. I have got to watch her grow into a very beautiful smart young lady.

Yesterday, we celebrated her first Birthday in the double digits! She is 10 years old. Only 3 more years and she will be a teen. Yikes! she had a bumpin' party at King Skate. We always have fun at skating parties. A lot of people skate, even the adults! She had lots of friends and family that attended and got some really neat gifts.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Saturday we celebrated Steven's Birthday with the family and enjoyed a yummy chocolate cake From Freeport Bakery . I love there cakes. It seems like a tradition now, that for our Birthday's we always get a cake from there.I got a Fudge cake Man was it good. However, I was a little mad. The lady told me I could leave it out, well, Saturday was a very warm day and the darn thing practically melted. It was caving in on one side. I think Steven had a nice day.

Yesterday was his actual Birthday. He did not know it but I surprised him, as I was able to have the day off. I took the kids to daycare and went home to straighten up and cook him dinner. Steven was surprised to see me home, but I think he was happy =). I made Bell Beefers. I guess it was something Taco Bell had some time ago that he really liked. Then we enjoyed some yummy cupcakes I picked up from Raley's. We closed the night with a visit to Grandma Carmen's and Grandpa Tom's.

Happy Birthday Grandma Carmen!

Today is actually Grandma Carmen's Birthday but since everyone had to work today and yesterday, we decided to do a little celebration for her on Saturday. It is always hard getting stuff for people who have everything, you can only by so many movie tickets and so on. So, as impersonal as it is, we know she LOVES Mervyn's. We settled on a gift car. Hey what woman does not love going shopping for free? We also brought a chocolate cake that was much enjoyed after we stuffed our faces with Pizza and salad! Yum yum eat em up ! ( as Andrew would say ).

After we eat cake, Steven wanted to head over to the house to see inside.. We only get to go in once a week to see the changes ( see the house blog for the recent updates ) We had to scram over there because it gets dark so early now. Luckily we got there in time to check some stuff out.. no pics though because it was too dark.

When we were leaving Steven could of sworn he saw Rudy's truck, he asked if it was green and I was pretty sure it was. Sure enough Uncle's Benji and Rudy were pulling in with Uncle Benji's new washer and dryer. I told Steven " just in time to help". They had to move those things up the stairs. Man what a pain. They did pretty good too, got both up stairs with no damage to the carpet or walls =).

A little taste of what is to come for us, ony we have a 1 story.

P.S. My brother, after the 3rd time , finally passed his permit test! Now all he needs is a job, to be able to pay for insurance so he can get his license. None the less he is half way there!

Andres B-day! July 7, 07

Saturday was cousin Andres B-day party. Boy what a crazy party that was. We got there and I assumed that Andrew would want to get right in the pool, so we changed and put on his speedo and buttered up. When it got down to the floaties he said he did not want to swim and headed over to the play ground, where I was sitting. So, of course I looked over every few minutes to make sure he was alright, boy does this guy move fast! Steven said "where is Andrew ?" We glanced over the back yard and found him creeping in the pool via the seps and as we looked over he was going in getting ready to go off the last step. So, as I am watching my kid ( my 3 year old ) who does not have his floaties on, go under water and is kicking and flapping his arms, guess who is the one to run to the rescue as Steven is saying "look at that guy" Yes, 4 months along pregnant mommy. I could not reach him from the side so in I go, shoes, clothes and all. That guys is fearless. He knows floaties go on first! I guess the water was calling his name. So, we got the floaties on, and back in the pool he went, then back home mommy went to put on some dry clothes. Good thing I had some clean maternity clothes - sheesh! Daddy stayed behind to keep an eye on the drifter because clearly with him , anything is possible.

Happy Birthday Mary

My Co-worker, Mary, broker her arm earlier this month.. Well, actually it was her wrist and then her shoulder broke in 4, I guess they call it a spider break. she did this on her new sand rail, testing it out in her b/f's backyard. Yep, first time on it and off to the ER in an ambulance she goes. What is even more crazy, not being fully healed, she went sand railing while on medical leave for her arm to heal.. She kills me. She's a crazy woman but nothing will stop her, not even an arm break!!

We normally make a big deal out of our B-days at work, there are 4 of us that work our shift so it is fun..we even BBQ'd in the parking lot once for dinner. Anyways, since she was not there on her B-day we have been trying to plan a day to go to lunch. We all had today free but what was supposed to be a lunch with the girls, turned into a BBQ at Mary's house. The only down fall about that is I had plans in the evening with my parents at 3, they wanted to meet at 2. So, I had to get to Mary's before then so I could spend more than an hour with her. It was fun - no doubt but, I would have preferred to meet for luch, not be on a time crunch and at least got to have a piece of the Carrot cake that I got her for Freeport bakery. So, that part kinda sucked! But the time with her was very nice.

Andrew sure had a blast! My friend Chai broght her daughter Angelina or "Lina". They have fun together, I just did not expect Andrew to get filthy in the first 30 min of being there.. she sure made a mess of his shirt! A nice combination of Cranberry juice, mud/dirt and chocolate cake completed the materpiece.

Happy B-day Steven!!

Today is actually Steve's B-day! We celebrated Friday night. We eat at Mountain Mikes and I got one of our yummy cakes from The Freeport Bakery. It really has become a tradition now. Every B-day we get to pick a cake from there. We have had a few now. I think one of my favorite ones is the Champagne Cake with Strawberries and white cake..mmm it is soooo good!!! We got the Chocolate fudge cake this time for Steven. It is totally over load, WAY too much Chocolate. And for those of you who say there is no such thing as too much Chocolate - they must have a zillion cavities !!!!

Anyhow, We did Pizza and Cake at Mountain Mike's. Steven made out like a bandit with his B-day cash. My parents took Andrew for the night, so Steven and I headed to the mall so he can spend his cash. He got a polo and a new pair of white Nike's. It was nice getting out for a short while and not cooped up in the house with nothing to do. We went back to the house and watch Borat in bed. It was kina stupid so I went out and watch a little TV with Carmen and headed to bed at midnight.

I slept pretty much the whole day!! It was so nice, I of course cannot do that with Andrew, so it was a nice little treat. I was up an hour or so before he came home from Papa's and Manama's, steven came home from work and then I headed off to work shortly after that.
