Today was the big day! My father in law was having his cancer ridden prostate removed. After receiving the news a couple months ago, we all had the horrid little devil in the back of our minds with that one question. What if? The unknown alone could cause a true lack of sleep and of course, it did.
We all ( the kids ) arrived at the hospital fresh and early this morning, right behind him and Mother in law. They had taken him back and slowly prepped him. We decided just to go down and get some breakfast rather than pacing the waiting room for mom to emerge... Definitely nerve racking.
There was no much left from breakfast in the hospital cafeteria, and I am going to admit , I like the food. I enjoyed all but one meal when I was there when I had Andrew. I had some cereal, hash brown, bacon , cottage cheese and biscuits and gravy. I did not eat than all myself, I had the mouths and Andrew and Steven to help. But I loved the gravy!!! That allowed us to kill much time with some joking with my sis along the way.. man she makes me laugh hard!! We stopped off at the gift shop and got a card and a little pic frame that said " It is cool being Grandpa". Andrew is going to give it to him.
After breakfast we waiting in the front waiting room. Andrew was all over the place. Minor things broke the circles he was running around the room. We even got a visit from Dexter the therapy dog. He was a Golden retriever and he was beautiful!
Andrew seemed to like him, he was a big dog, and I think that was a little different from the lappers we have at home.
Finally on the workers gave Andrew a coloring book, I think they were sick of him running around.. I did not blame them. Grandma was out by then and she was ready for some lunch ( it was about noon by this time). We headed back to the cafeteria. Andrew did his coloring and Steven , Leslie and grandma got some grub, I was still stuffed from breakfast but I did manage to steal some frys and down 2 tropical Iced Tea's.
Once we were done there, we headed back to the waiting room by the entry of where his surgery was. I changed a poopy popper and then it was pretty much time for us to head back so I can go to work. I called Leslie on my break and he had been out for about an hour or so. The surgery took longer than expected, his prostate weighed 90 G or KG what ever it was and the average is 30, as a result of this, he required a blood transfusion. However, the Dr. Is confident that they got everything, and it went well.
So, now, we call all rest better knowing that Grandpa is cancer free!! We thank got that the outcome was successful.

The picture says it all !
There is really no explanation for the below picture, other than this is what happens when you work at night and your husband happens to find some curlers that were left in the bed from when Andrew was playing with them that morning. For the record Andrew only plays with the curlers because when he first saw them I told him they were Spongebob ( this was some time ago)... he still thinks they are *lol*. so this goes to show that dogs like to look there best too. Opie wants to make sure that his ears are the floppiest.

Frank is a Weiner !
Saturday was the Annual Doxie Derby at the California State Fair. Frank is a 4 year verteran. Winning now 1st place is his heats for 4 years straight. If you ask why He runs so fast I will tell you it is the simple fact that frank has a clinical obsession with Steven. However Steven will tell you that he is running for the beef jerkey.. umm no! He can care less about the Jerkey and anyone who has been to our house and has seen Frank with Steven will know this!
Each year the organizing is different, some years better than others and some just horrible. I liked this year because they did it in the eveing time, so by the time we ran, the area was nice and shady making for a much nicer mood =).
Once again Frank failed the finals. I am really not sure what his deal is, even if the HUGE dog that won was not there , he still would have lost. Aside from being tired and hot, he had gone after other dogs in the finals, I mean it was never an issue for the 1st race.. why now? I guess the old saying is "there is always next year".
Below is a pic of Frank his very first year racing, his race coat came of and as you can see he was literally flying across the dirt!

Hair did and Amber visits!
Friday was such an awesome day! I had a hair apt at 3:30 which was LONG over due and I had a friend coming for dinner with her 2 kids. One of which I did not even know she had. We lost touch for about 2 years and then I found her on myspace with another baby girl...lol. Sadly she was the product of a one night stand, but Amber is a wonderful mother and loves her children regardless of the way they were conceived. They are both beautful and healthy, what more can you ask for?
So, my hair is short!! I chopped it all off. Something new, a fresh start. My long hair was gross. the roots were 8 months long grown, my ends were split. Needless to say, cutting 8-10 inches off was not a bad thing. I really slacked this last time. But I have a cute hair cut and the color is awesome, I started new with some fresh highlights. I could not be more happy witht he out come. I got some really good shampoo too.
I headed home to make some homemade pizza... Amber Arrived for dinner and it was fun talking and catching up... I really miss her.. she is hilarious! We have so much in common, aside from our kids! Andrew loves her daugher Sage, who just turned 3. They are so close in age it was great! She warmed up to him with no problem.

A nice weekend
We had a lovely weekend. For one I was not stressed out about something and it seems to make a difference in the days ( go figure ) Friday was a buys but fun day. We headed to first thing in the morning to get the boys some hair cuts, Andrew I think really liked getting them now. At his Barber they have a fish tank with some Almino Gold fish ( I think that is what they are called ) and the have to feed them the little gold fish. It was so sad. He put on in while we were there and this little gold fish was running for his little life. Eventually all of the Albino's cornered him and one ended up getting him. He swam around the tank with the baby gold fishes tail sticking out of his mouth ( that was kinda silly looking).
After the hair cuts we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Grandpa was gone fishing and Grandma and Emma were home. Grandpa got home after about 5 minutes. It was not along visit just stopped to say Hi since we were in the area.
We then headed over to the mall. We needed to start Andrew's winter clothing shopping. He is not a 24 month anymore so he needed all new winter pants. We got a lot of cute stuff and at a bargain too. It was back to school shopping so I did good. Daddy helped pick some stuff out too. We even ended up getting him a new jacket which Steven picked out .. I was surprised he liked it because I saw it on line and thought it was cute myself. After we picked all the stiff out, I stood in line to check out and Steven took Andrew down to KayB toys to look. You know he was not going to leave there empty handed.
I headed down there when I was done and sure enough Andrew was looking at all these toys. We let him pick something and it ended up being a little tractor set with some men and and other goodies.
By this time it was well in to lunch... So we decided to eat at fresh choice. This was much better than the food court. I love eating there. Steven and I enjoyed our lunch but Andrew once in a while decides to be picky, when really he is not at all. I finally got him to eat enough to where I was satisfied.
Now that we had fully tummies we headed back home to look at a new housing development that they are building. We really liked the area so I got the # and website and looked at the plans. There were a few I liked and steven did as well. Steven noticed that they were only one car Garages. I have never been able to park my car in the garage. Right now it is because of a weight bench that is getting 0 use at the moment. Kinda irritates me my car sits out to get weathered.... Anyways after Steven suggesting adding on some drive way and so on I was like o.k. Then I called for more info to be told the lots have absolutely no back yard and are VERY small. YIKES....So we passed on that and will again keep looking!

clumsy me
A couple weeks ago I was coming into work and up the stairs. I made it up the first flight just fine and to the middle flat and as I approached the second flight and began my trails up, I guess I forgot some coordination and fell about the second or third step. Now, this sounds very funny and I write this with a smile on my face, however, my first thought when I fell was" I broke something". I fell and my right leg ( right below the knee ) was what I landed on. It hit the curve of the stair, you know right into the edge. It is kind of hard to explain. At the very first look of it I thought I had broke the bone in there because the skin was caved in and when I felt it, it was an indentation. So, first thing I check to see if I could stand on it, then I proceeded to carefully continue up the stairs. After I walked about 15 feet into the door I ran into my co worker kim ( as I my leg is throbbing by this point, I told her what happen. I pulled up my pant leg and you would not believe the size of this . It went from being sunken in to an enormous lump. It was swollen, red and I was in a lot of pain by this time. I told her I had to sit down and she was kind enough to get me some ice. So, security had to do there report and stuff and they were trying to get me to go to the hospital and have it checked. I really did not want to. I stayed and worked and had Ice on it literally the entire time. By the end of the night, you would have never know I was a huge knotty lump. The next few days it knotted up, It was swollen some but that was about it. Now today it is a bruise that is turning yellow.
Today my leg, right on the bruise was hit ( accidently ) 2 times by Andrew and Steven. I wanted to cry so bad. The pain it worse from when it originally happened. I cannot even explain. I am sure it being hit is not helping the healing process at all.
Now, this is not the first time I have had a injury at work..... About a year ago, this was during the time my dad had his knee surgery, and the day before my mom was having her tumor taken out... I was helping my dad ( since he was in a wheel chair) down to the car, my mom was picking him up. I get him in the car and start taking his wheel chair apart. I go to put a piece in the car and trip off the curb, severely spraining my ankle, I thought I broke it, it burned so bad ( oh man! ). So, I have both of my cripple parents, completely helpless to me , as I am laying on the found with my foot in the air crying and rolling around in oil.. Sounds hilarious right now... Just imagine all of this, what was most funny is that I was not on break or anything , I kindly just stepped away to help my dad... Luckily my manager was awesome and found humor in the whole thing. Hey ! I am glad I was able to give her a laugh looking like an ass. So, as one parent just got out of the hospital and the other being admitted the next morning, my dad had to take me to the hospital because my work made me go... It was just a sever sprang thank god...
To this date I still cannot put my leg under me and sit and right ankle is very sensitive...

Today..
Today I felt so productive. I got up super early ( which I normally do not do). It was before 8. Made a phone call right at 8. I wanted to lay back down , but I knew that if I did I would be more tired and I bet myself that Andrew was going to be up by 8:30. Sure enough... 8:29 he was in his room talking to himself. When he came out we eat breakfast, I had some toast and Andrew had some cereal. He wanted his trains so I put some cartoons on and got his trains down. This allowed me to clean some junk up... I cleaned the kitchen, did some laundry , cleaned the hardwood floors, checked some email, myspace, made my bed.
Then I made dinner for us so that I can take it to work. Steven was able to just come home and eat rather than have to cook. I really miss cooking dinner. It takes away from the variety of meals we get to eat. But I try to cook yummy things on the weekends. I tried to get Andrew for a nap but he played around rather than sleep so when he finally crashed I had to wake him up. He napped long enough to shower and get ready for work... Poor baby. That is what he gets for not laying down.
Anyways, it was a good day and I felt nice getting up and motivating myself that early... I shall do it again tomorrow.

Potty Training
It has been something that I have been needing to get on the ball with for Andrew. Good ol Potty Training. He is almost 3 and most will say he should have been already, but I do not feel it is right to force a child. So, when we see him standing in the corner and his face all red, we know what is going on. This is when we try and coax him into the bathroom. Now, he is not always willing but I know he understands the concept of going to the bathroom since he is always following me and Steven in there and can clearly see how you go ( as a woman and as a man).
So... This weekend he randomly told us he needs to go #2. Automatically I am off the couch. If he is going to approach me the I am all for it, I knew it would be in his time! He took my hand and we walked to his bathroom, sat em on the toilet, and as I was talking to him trying to take him mind off of the initial fact that this is something different and I am sure the "deed" is going to feel different with nothing to catch it for him. As we were talking about the normal little boy 2 year old stuff he is making faxes and getting a little red, and then he proceeds to tell me " It hurts". I could not help but to kinda giggle, because as nasty as pooping is, it was the cutest thing. I coached em and said just push it out like you would go in your popper ( this is what he calls his diapers btw ). He did!! He continued to push it out, I thought we would ask for his diaper like he has done in the past but he followed through and got the job done! I When he was all done we were hootin and hollerin, daddy was banging his flip flops together so it was a very celebrated thing. He has a smile ear to ear.
Then...Today when I was getting him ready to go to Grandma's I was changing him and reminded him not to pee when his popper was off. He immediately said he had to pee. I took advantage of that moment and rather than put the popper on we ran to the potty. Not even a minute went by and he was tinkling in the toilet. I told him since he was potting in the big boy toilet that he can start to wear his big boy Thomas undies but he had to do it more after and he seemed to be as excited about that, as was I. Then a short break for diapers until we will have to buy them again for the next one we want to have.
Lets keep our fingers crossed that he keeps with it!

Reno / 350Z and He's back....!
Friday was a big day! Steven and I went to Reno to Visit his friend Dave, we also looked at a few cars and had some lunch. But I have to say that for me the best part was spending time alone with him. It does not come often and not like this. For the hell of it we rented a 350Z to drive to Reno in. Just something fun.. I got to drive down there, Man is that car slicker that some snot of a door nob. That thing is fast! I loved driving it - oh man - I cannot explain. I will for sure get something like that once the kiddies are older - FOR SURE! I only got it to around 90. I did not want to press my luck. We stopped off to see Dave first. He seems like he is doing good... We are going go see some games when season starts and take Andrew.. Andrew likes Dave. He calls him "Days". After we headed to to the casino's to try and find a buffet. We eat at the Silver Legacy. Was not bad at all. Man I wanted to eat tons but I was good. Even eat a salad -lol. When we were done eating, Steven played some craps, won a little but lost it sort of fast. I think me waiting behind him was a distraction. Honestly my feet hurt so bad I really wished he would have played longer. I was having more of a hard time dealing with the smoke. It does a number on my lungs, I had a coughing attack when I was outta that place - yucky. We walked a tad and looked at a few cars, wish my feet did not hurt I would of loved to of walked some more.. I never learn when it comes to shoes. Anyway, we headed back to sac.. Steven drove back =o he got that car up to 114 I was like o.k.. that is enough... You had your fun with it now chill out. I cannot imagine how much the ticket would have been for going 114 in a 65 zone ! After so many miles it is considered reckless driving. We made it back safe and sound. Not without traffic of course.
After stopping off at a Bel Air in Natomas to get my car we headed to get my baby boy! Gosh I missed him so much!! He was so wiped out when we got him. We headed home to freshen up and then back out to my parents for some dinner. They too missed him very much. So, we had some of my dads awesome chicken!! I eat too much as usual but cannot help it when it comes to his cooking. It was a nice treat! We ended the night with A shower for Andrew and I , he pretty much cried the whole time. He was long over due for his bed time. Once his head hit the pillow it was lights out!
We had to get up again early to return the 350Z ( yucky ) .. I took a pic of it on a disposable to will post when I get them developed.
