Busy Weekend

Yet , another very busy weekend for us. Really it was half and half actually. I think the fact that I only got 3 hours sleep maybe made it seem so busy.

We, after 5 years, finally found the time to get our dog fixed. Sad, yes, I know. So, Thursday, I pick up little Frankie oh thursday and headed over to my parents ( where I will be staying during his healing process ) As a reminder Opie and Frank are staying with a co worker of mine and they are kept outside. So, I am not thrilled with that, but greatful none the less they have had a safe place to stay. Frankie's dirty but was right in the tub when we got to my parents. The fle wash I got works magic. All the flea's that were on him ( which weren't many ) surfaced to the top of his fur, it was actually kinda funny. I have not seen 1 flea since that bath. Horray! As a treat as soon as we move into the house, the dogs will be heading the the groomers for a full service wash. The works. No dirty dogs in my new house! Anyways, I washed him and freshened him up. I think he was happy =). Daddy met us there in the afternoon to hang out, then he headed back home before traffic before having to come back for the evening. He statyed the night with us at Manama and Papa's and then off to the Vet we went at 7AM. I got off at 1:00am and just as my luck shall have it, I was not ablet to fall asleep right away. I think I eneded up with about 3 hours sleep. After we checked Frank in , he headed to Steven's parents. I packed some stuff for my weeks stay and Daddy took a shower and freshened up. I managed to get a a little rest in. Not a nap but some shut eye. I had a Dr. Apt at 11:30 So I got off the bed at 10:30 and we headed to the Dr. ( see Kendra or Luke blog for those details ). After Dr. Apt - back to Steven's parents to grab some food for the week stay as well. We loaded the car and back to Manama and Papa's we went.

Since I have not had the luxury of cooking meals that I oh so enjoy. I was craving Spaghetti. So, I told my parents and Steven that I was going to make that for dinner. We stopped at the grocery store and got the fixins and hung out at my parents and eat a yummy dinner. Steven headed back to his parents because he had to work Saturday to cover for someone. Andrew and I just hung out and relaxed. I headed to get Frank about 11 on Saturday. He did awesome and was walking. I thoguht I was going to have to carry him. He was more than happy to hang out and relax. I really miss the pups so this week will be nice with him. I will need to spend some time with Opie next weekend.

We made our way to Toys R Us with Manama where we got some things for Andrew. Daddy made his way back over with us after work where we had another fabulous dinner.. this time compliments of my parents. The menu included. Steak, asparagus , shrimp, lobster and Tater tots -Yes, we are wierd and eat Tater Tots with Steak lobster and shrimp. LOL. I cleaned most of the kitchen since I did not have to cook and then we all settled in with a movie The Nubmber 23, I was not really able to get into it because Andrew was still up.

Catch up..

Gosh ,I took so long to write last weekends activities, I am not sure I am going to be able to remember them all. So, let's see... Friday was a full day. Tom had surgery for his hernia so we made that our first stop. he was supposed to go in at 10 but he went in pretty much when we got here at 10:22. We arrived after they did so we could not find carmen when we first arrived. We just headed down to the cafeteria for some grub. Mommy and baby were starting to get a little hungry by the time we were done looking for Carmnen a bit. They surgery was only supposed to be an hour.. but 3 hours later they were still sitting there.. board.

Finally they called Carmen back, "I told her don't forget about us", "I won't she replied" So, we sat there for about 30 more min and she never came out. I was hoping we would have some kind of update sitting there for 3 hours. We were somewhat frustrated since we had Andrew waiting with us to and naturally he was getting board. So, we just decided to leave and just meet him at home. As we were driving out of the hospital. Guess who we see? Carmen in her car driving around. Apparently she was moving the car to take him home. Later she told us that she did not come out because she was waiting for the Dr. to come talk to her he was busy and they were not sure where he was at. I was thinking to myself... that is all you had to come out and tell us so we know what was going on.. Anyways, he is healing good, however, I do not think he is too happy about not being able to go to Mexico now. I would too after buying my ticket and making all the arrangements.

Gosh, it is so sad that I cannot remember what we did after leaving the hospital, but I think we stipped off somewhere.
Leter that evening we took Andrew to my parents, he was stauying the night with them becasue he was going to Lake Tahoe the next day to visit my uncle. Andrew loves his "manama and Papa" They do so much with him and really have a lot of that one on one time. When Andrew is there, it is all about him. I think my parents would have just rather of gone straight to Grandkids =). After dropping Andrew off Steven and I went browsing for some pictures for the new house. We have this beautiful french painting that was meant for over a fireplace mantle. We bought it for our first place we had, which is exactly where it was. Then when we moved to the next place there was already a mirror on the wall above the fireplace so we just put it on a different wall - no biggie. Now that we are buying a house that we will hopefully be in forever.. the picture is too big for the wall above the mantle. Well, actually - correction. The wall is a bit different, it has a small cutout within the wall so you can only put a picture the size of the cut out. So, yet again, our beloved painting will be placed on another wall. Luckily, we know exactly where that is. We stopped at Aaron Brothers and found plenty we liked but just not for the size we needed it. So, as we were leaving I spotted a Thomas Kinkade gallery a few down. Apparently I never knew it was there. We found many we liked but just a little out of the price range.

Saturday, we went to Cost Plus and Pier 1 to see if we can find a dining table. We found a few we really liked actually but the thing I hate about buying from places like that is the table and chairs and sold separately. We actually found a couple media centers we liked as well. Before that we acually stopped off at the Aaron Brothers on Arden. They had more of a selection of paintings there I think it was a bigger store, we found the right size and we actually found 2! We did not need 2 but steven found another one he really liked and we both decided on a perfect place to put it. So, 2 paintings 2 frames for half the price of the Thomas Kinkade! Score! After our shopping we headed home.. we needed to take some stuff to storage and since we were having JR's BBQ for dinner we did a round robin. Went to storage and then to get dinner. It was so yummy!! We just relaxed the rest of the night. Andrew was going to stay the night at my parents again but they ended up dropping him off about 11ish that night.

Sunday, Andrew had a B-day party to go to. My girlfriend's daughter ( his little buddy, Sage ) turned 4. It was at a spray park in West Sac. It was actually really nice. But he was the only boy and was acting up toward the end, so we left a bit early. Daddy was working so he was not there to whip him into shape. We headed home and he snooped through his goodie bag treats before his nap.

Amercican Century Championship

It is that time again, the "Amercican Century Championship" in Lake Tahoe, June 10-15, 2007. Though we do not go every year, in fact the last time I went is when steven and I were dating, and now we are married and on our second child - go figure *lol*
I think Steven MAY have gone since then but I am not sure exactly.

Our trip started on Thursday night, I got off early to actually get in bed at a decent time because we were going to leave between 6-7am. Steven called me and asked if I just want to drive up and stay the night , so I said if he could get a room at a decent rate then, why not? He called and the lady said the rooms ( since it was last minute and only had about 3 left, would be 400 ) Umm, no thanks. Steven told her it was just one night and it was going to be his wife and 3 year old son.. he must have done some good flirting or something because he got the room down to 209 which was somewhat reasonable with the Championship going on. So, I got off at 8, got some stuff together and off we went. It was a nice drive, Andrew listened to my ipod some of the way.. Yes, sadly I have a couple play lists I made just for Andrew with the songs I know he loves. To name a few " Come on feel the noise" - by Quiet Riot, "Before he cheats" - Carrie Underwood ( he calls the song "right now" *lol*) and his all time favorite " How to save a life" - The Fray. Interesting taste for a 3 year old I am sure, but he loves music! Kept him busy for a bit and then he started to nod off, it was so cute. Poor guy he was so tired but really wanted to stay awake, he is a bug boy cause he made it. I think he was happy too, We stayed at "Harvey's" Andrew loved the bed, it was huge and to top it off it had a long round browm pillow on it that daddy referred to as a sausage pillow *lol* Andrew eat up and loved it, we did some pillow fighting and playing.. lots of jumping on the bed, Andrew loves to mess up nicely made beds. I was starving because I did not eat dinner, it was not planned to drive down when I left work,so we had to get some room service. Daddy had a salad, I had my french dip and Andrew just had some milk and some of my fries. He was too focused on the bed. I think he was the only one that slept good. I slept horribly, All the while Andrew snoring the WHOLE night. Glad someone got some sleep.

Wake up call was at 7am but oddly enough Steven was up about 6ish and I was already stirring as well. Bad sleep might as well be no sleep. There was nothing I could do to get comfy and franly I think the bed was just too hard. So, up I got about 6:30. Andrew was knocked out, he was not waking up for nothing, I even had some cartoon's on for him thinking he would hear them. So, I got ready and Andrew too when he finally woke up, Daddy went up to find a place to eat some breakfast.. but mama knew better than that, it did not take 30 min to find a place to eat in there.. Daddy pulled some cash and copped a squat at a craps table. He won 100 and then lost , he brought back what he took out, including the surcharge - Good boy LOL. Breakfast was nothing special and then it was off to watch some golf. The weather was nice down there, It was nippy late in the night and in the early morning, but by the time we eat and made it ourside it was beautiful. Now, I am not a golf fan - at all - And most of all I did not want to be walking around tiring myself out. I did way more walking then I wanted to.
Being pregnant makes it 10 times worse. Luckily, a worker saw that Steven left his pregnant wife begind and have me a ride to the 16th hole where we found a nice shady bench to sit at the whole day. It was the perfect spot because we got to see EVERYONE!!

Andrew made out with some goodies, I think they like seeing kids out there, he was being so cute. He kept pretending like he was hitting the golf ball, it really looked like baseball though *lol* he sat and watched everyone hit and then when they were done and we were waiting for the next group he would play.

Andrew's goodies included: A golf ball and tootsie pop from Ben Roethlisberger.

And another golf ball from Mark Rypien.

Mama has to throw in that this guy was funny, Jim McMahon, he golfs bare foot. I thought it was hilarious. He was the only one without shoes.

Okay, back from lunch.. where was I?

Oh yes! So, after all the groups made there way through hole 16 where we sat for the day, we decided it was time to go. This was about 2is I believe, somewhere around there. We pretty much just headed home. We got to laugh at all the people headed up to Tahoe that were stuck in traffic for miles and I mean MILES!!!! Who would drive to an event like that on a Friday knowing it would be bumper to bumper ? LOL hence why we decided it would be better to drive up the night before.
We did not get stuck in much traffic, then again, steven was driving so that should explain it all.

The rest of the night was rather quiet. After the walking and the long drive in the head that is just the way I wanted it. We unpacked some, got changed, relaxed and I think we eneded up turning in between 8 or 9. After all , do not get to do that often =)

Ahoy!

Today Andrew and I made our way to the park, the weather was nice, So I knew I would not roast sitting and watching him. It was a park we had not been to before, it was really cute. It is off of LaRiviera. In the play area there are 2 play gorunds, a pirate ship and one that looks like a dungeounous castle. Andrew enjoyed them both, while checking out the sand crane and the wobble whale too.

Andres B-day! July 7, 07

Saturday was cousin Andres B-day party. Boy what a crazy party that was. We got there and I assumed that Andrew would want to get right in the pool, so we changed and put on his speedo and buttered up. When it got down to the floaties he said he did not want to swim and headed over to the play ground, where I was sitting. So, of course I looked over every few minutes to make sure he was alright, boy does this guy move fast! Steven said "where is Andrew ?" We glanced over the back yard and found him creeping in the pool via the seps and as we looked over he was going in getting ready to go off the last step. So, as I am watching my kid ( my 3 year old ) who does not have his floaties on, go under water and is kicking and flapping his arms, guess who is the one to run to the rescue as Steven is saying "look at that guy" Yes, 4 months along pregnant mommy. I could not reach him from the side so in I go, shoes, clothes and all. That guys is fearless. He knows floaties go on first! I guess the water was calling his name. So, we got the floaties on, and back in the pool he went, then back home mommy went to put on some dry clothes. Good thing I had some clean maternity clothes - sheesh! Daddy stayed behind to keep an eye on the drifter because clearly with him , anything is possible.

Transformers Three stars

In addition to the 4th Steven had got another day off. He said he wanted to take Andrew to see the Transformers, which I was unsure of because it was not a cartoon and Cars did not go as great as we hoped. Although It is funny, now, he can sit and watch the whole thing at home, but no way in the cinema. So, off to the movies we go ( while I am feeling very horrible ).

Now, I must say, I am not very much into these types of movies ( with the exception of Starwars ) However, I was very surprised at how much I actually enjoyed the movie. It is very cute action packed and has its fair share of comical parts. I also enjoyed the cast. I loved the way they gave them personalities. Andrew, had his mouth dropped at certain points.. of course when the cars were racing or when the transformers were actually doing something interesting. Other than that he was all over the place, maybe we should not get him an Icee next time? He has to pee 3 times ( I did not even have to go ) So, I missed some parts.
So, if you need a good family movie - I highly recommend!
