Gallbladder or Reflux Update...

The blood work and X-rays came back okay. So, appears it may be a case of nasty reflux. It's just crazy to me how this has never been an issue and it sprouts up from know where. I am still doing thee no late night eating and such, and if the pain resurfaces, I should give the Dr. a call.

No surgery - Yay!

First Field Trip

Today was Andrew's first field Trip. Mrs. Newman's class went to the Fog Willow Farms. Rather than school at 8:20, we all meet at the PM class time, 11:00, loaded the bus, and headed off....

It was a nice trip, right away we all lined up and made our way to the first station which was learning about cows, they even got to milk it ( It was a fake cow btw ). Next was how to make a hay stack, then to meet Pete, cows, goats and to see a very large Pumpkin. Once we were done with all of that, we heading over to take a class picture, which followed with picking out our pumpkin. We played a game of Simon says ( AJ was Simon)  and finished the trip with a dusty Hay ride!

Take a look at how much fun we had!

Gallbladder or Reflux?

For the past 2 weeks I have been waking up in the middle of the night in absolute pain. The pain seems to be in my stomach and radiates to the back causing me severe back pain. It happens in the middle of the night. Last night it was 4am when it started and did not calm down until after 8 or so. I am exhausted. This has happened a 2-3 times a week causing me to loose sleep and spend hours in pain with no relief. I thought since I work late and sometimes either eat late or have a snack lete, maybe it was causing my tummy to ache. But sleeping on my stomach, Tums - nothing helped. After limiting myself to not eating past 8pm, It still continued. Last night was enough. It was miserable. I toss and turn in horrific pain. After finally getting a couple hours of sleep this morning, I called the advice nurse to see what I can find out. Her concern was Gallbladder and she wanted me seen today! I was able to get in at 3:45 , which left me missing half my shift. Now, after an X-ray an blood work, hear I sit waiting. To be honest,  I have not felt myself after having Luke. I remember it took some time after Andrew until I felt good again, well over a year I'd say.

Wish me luck! I should know something tomorrow!

Sunday is fun day!

Today my parents came over for the normal Sunday visit. I work on Sundays, so they come over to watch the kids and spend some time. I love it. We all work and it's very hard to make the time to hang out. I work with my dad but since I am now working from home, I feel as if I hardly see them. My dad wanted to go somewhere and Andrew of course was thrilled to go with him and Uncle Richie. That left myself, my mom and Luke for some play time. While we were at it, I tried on Luke's Dumbo costume. Actually, it was Andrew's but, it of course was used once, and looks brand new. I hung onto it just in case, and boy was I glad I did. Luke, just like Andrew, looked absolutely adorable.

Andrew, wearing Dumbo Halloween of 2004

Luke, not feeling the Dumbo costume
" Oh man! What are they doing to me now?"

"How do I get out of this thing?"

Before we "tortured" him with the costume I caught some adorable little playful shots of him.

Question of the Day?

Question of the Day?
If you have a good book do you read it all the way through in one day, take your time or skip the book and watch the movie instead?

If it were 10 years ago, I would have either skipped to the last chapter to see what  happens or went straight to the movie. These days since I have become a little more partial to reading, as long as it is a good book, I for sure would want to take my time. I would not want to miss anything. Now, if I had a really long road trip to go on, I may consider just reading the whole book. Again, this would all depend on what the book was.

Bishop's Pumpkin Farm

Today we visited Bishop's Pumpkin Farm. It was a spur of the moment trip. I was completely content with staying home and enjoying the over cast sky and the smell of the nights rain still lingering in the air. Steven and I were just surfing the net and he was looking at a list of Farms.
My parents had given us the coupons for this place, so it was definitely on the list of things to go do before Halloween. It's located in Wheatland, so, it is about an hour away. Which is fine, we love taking drives anyways. We went to Fog Willow Farms last year, which I like too, It is smaller and Andrew will be going on a field trip there on the 24th, which I will be chaperoning.

Bishop's is huge. I was impressed. There is so much to do there! Not just for kids, but even adults can really enjoy themselves. You have to pay for some of it, but, it's is very reasonable. I think we will go back next year, but we will have a picnic instead of buying food. We came home Pumpkin-less, only because Andrew and I will both get one on his Field trip and we end up throwing the un-carved Pumpkins away by Christmas anyhow! I will probably buy an additional one for Luke then too..
