It's a .....

As a follow up to our new addition. "Stinger" appears to be a girl.

Island way Sorbet

What a presentation eh? This is a coconut sorbet served in a real Pineapple. These are the ultimate summer must have treats. There are a 4 different flavors in a box all server in fruit shell. There is Coconut, Lemon, Orange, Pina Colada and Pineapple Sorbet. All served in matching fruit shells. What i love most as they will not bust a button on your favorite pair of jeans. They area super low cal & fat.

Now, the only thing about these is, you can only get them at a couple places. 1. Your local Costco & 2. Smart and Final. We are sure to pick up a box anytime we go to Costco. They are a hit. Even Andrew, Mr. Sweet tooth, loves them. He tends to eat all the Pineapple's.

So, next time you are in Costco, pick up a box I promise you will not be disappointed!

A new addition

Much to my dismay, we have a new addition to the McClain household. No, it's not a cute, fluffy, floppy, cuddly, adorable little puppy. No, it's not a darling, playful kitten, heck, it's not even a bubbly little gold fish. I will make you wait in anticipation ( unless you decide to scroll down).

Andrew has had this fascination with the nature shows. Snakes, bugs, alligators ect. He is glued to the TV when they come on. I would much rather him watch these than cartoons. At least he is learning something. Steven has always said, there is going to be a day when he is going to want a snake, tarantula or even a lizard. Yes, I have all boys, and a husband who at heart is a kid himself, so all t his is to be expected right? Aren't 2 dogs enough? - Sigh- No mater how much I fight and say no, and share my reasoning for why we do not need another living "thing" is this house, another "thing" to feed and care for. I really am not sure why I express my opinion on some things anyways. Because no matter how much I say it is a not a good idea, or I really don't want to, it happens, gets done or is purchased anyways.

So, I keep you waiting no longer and give you STINGER!

OUR EMPORER SCORPION!

Yes, folks this is real, not fake. It lives in this house with us. Currently hanging out on my island. Gosh, PLEASE let this thing be a girl. I might be a little more partial to the idea if so. We have yet to try see the sex. So, please wish me luck!

No cavities!

Today Andrew had his simi-annual Dental check up. Andrew has this fear of the dentist, but then again who doesn't right? He starts with that deer in the head lights look, pacing and just looks around worried. We try and prepare him for it, explaining that he is just going to check and make sure there are no "bugs" in his mouth. Bugs meaning cavities. We tell him there is nothing to be worried or scared about. We talk about the bright funny light Dr. Grossman wears on his head and of all the tools that he uses. We aren't allowed back with him so we just act like the tools he is using are super cool. Though nothing compared to what some of our poor mouths have had to endure. Over the years he has gone he seems to get progressively better with the "walk" I call it.
They come out and get the kids, meet them half way or walk them to the door. This is essentially the walk. This is long enough to pretty much turn green. His eyes get huge and you can tell any second, the moment he looks back at us to hear us say what a big boy, no cavities! He looses it! Starts crying. The look he gets and the way you can tell he just wants to run to me and cry is just heart wrenching. Last time, he said while pointing at me " be a good boy and there is nothing be be afraid of and no crying?" As he said no crying the tears just came. Oh melts my heart.

This time we decided just to make mention it was that time again, but no pumping him up. That tactic did not work, I think it scares him more to keep reminding him than to just casually say it is time to see Dr. Grossman. He did so much better today, he had the worried look. And he was trying so hard to be brave and a big boy. We were standing at the door and he was waiting in the office area, we were giving his thumbs up and smiles, because he was doing so good, he waved at us and came to me for a hug and kiss and lost it. Oh! he was doing so good. After the lady came back to walk with him, he seemed to be fine. This was much better than the past trips.

Andrew is once again "spider" free and got to remain in Murry's no cavity club. He got his picture taken again, and his VIP toothbrush only cavity free kids get. We got the good news about his very crowded mouth and we might be looking at pulling some teeth here and there to make room for the new ones. That is about 2 years or so away. I can assure you that after that visit, we will be having to take him into the office in a straight jacket. Not to mention braces around age 10 Yikes!

Shiner continued

I finally got a pic of Luke's first shiner. I had forgot to mention in the last post that he is also getting out of the Bumbo. So much for that, that did not last long at all!

Hopefully you can see it there on the right ( your left ) side of the photo:

First shiner!

This evening Luke got his first shiner! As he is an official crawler, he is literally EVERYWHERE now. For some reason he has a fascination with our kitchen floor. He likes to slap it and I think maybe because it is cooler than the carpet. I have been trying to find ways to detour him but, all thus far have failed. We cannot really close off our kitchen because it is apart of the great room. So, I guess all I can say is the chase is on!

In addition to this he had a strange mark on his arm, which appears to look like a bite? And he bonked his head on a fixture we have in the mini hall of our bedroom, if you want to even call it a hall..

Our "hall" and take note of fixture

I will try and get a picture of the grey knot on his forehead tomorrow...

Bumbo-riffic!

This Bumbo is something else! Luke is like a new baby.. let me tell you. I think he was getting bored with the swing, floor and pack-n-play. We need to get a bouncer or something so he can get some strength in his legs to condition for walking. For now, he LOVES this Bumbo, lets see for how long.

We can play drums with the Bumbo

Hmmmm, what else can we do with this thing?

Lovin the brother!

We're almost there...

He thinks seeing his own reflection is hilarious

Isn't he a ham?

using his brother to prop himself up ( Lunch anyone? Serving regurgated mixed veggies)

How to entertain yourself in 107 degree heat!

Luke got lots of gift cards fort his baptism and so far we have purchased one thing. I have been wanting a Bumbo for him, and boy and I glad I bought it. Though Andrew is a bit too big to share the seat with his baby brother, he still finds his ways to be "involved" if you will.

Steven bought these for Andrew so he can help in the yard, Andrew had other plans for them.

4Th Of July

Glitter Graphics - GlitterLive.com

This year was a nice relaxing 4th of July. We celebrated the afternoon into the night with some yummy BBQ - The menu included: Hot Dogs ( not ours -hehe) Hamburgers , potato salad, green salad, Broccoli/cheese dish - My Fav!, Mandarin Jello Salad, chips, deviled eggs and endless beverages. Of course, Luke had the VIP menu of breast Milk/ formula combo.

The taste testers included: Myself, Steven, Andrew, my Mom & Dad, Steven's Mom & Dad, sister and niece. My uncle Bob, Aunt Wendy and my cousin Robby and My Grandma. The neighborhood was so Quiet. I thought more people would be out BBQ'in and doing Fireworks, but nope! Here are just a few shots. I had every intention of capturing more, but I go back to my saying that I always forget to take pics, even when my camera is sitting right in front of me!

what in the world is he doing?

What is wrong with this picture?

Oh wait! There we go!

Andrew and Emma enjoying the ride. Who said he can have a soda?

Andrew managed to get another ride from Papa

Leslie forgot to take her medication that day - J/K - Lets just say by the nights end both Leslie and I had way to much to drink, and what is worse, I was ready to keep going?
