Air, Pilates and R&R

After a week with a broken air conditioner and sweating my ass off with every move I made at home.. The air has finally been fixed. Seems they just replaced the compressor. Which is what was broken in the first place. They were going to replace the whole unit.. I guess it was cheaper? Anyways, none the less there is cold air blowing in my house and that is all that matters. It was funny because the house was so cold last night sleeping. But I did not care because I kept reminding myself of how hot I have been.

Today , I was pulled ;)' down stairs for a class with my old manager ( miss her dearly ) , not that we do not see each other, but .. she is nothing short of wonderful and I miss reporting to her. Anyways, she we go to this Pilates class together, and let me tell you. I have not worked a muscle in my body sine I cannot remember. I want to say Jr. High? Maybe I am blowing out of proportion, but you get the picture. Me = no exercise in a LONG time. I really need to change that though, hence why I went to the class. I have to tell you.. It kicked my ASS !!! I do not think that is the class to start working out with, It was so much. #1 I did it in the clothes I had to work in for the remainder of the day #2 I sweat like a fat man in a sauna # 3 I hate to walk around with a mop ( my a hair ) pulled up in a soppy sweaty bun. Shall we say NASTY? Yea, so there will be no more working out for me
(at work) without a gym bag and some showerwash. BUT I have to gave myself some credit for actually going down there and giving it a shot, I was brave !

After that class, and my work day , I get to enjoy 5 whole days off !! This will probably be the last little time away I get until the baby is born. I want to save the vacation time for an extra week at home for bonding time =). Actually, we will be going camping in August.. so that will actually be the last time. Luckily I am only using 1 vacation day for these 5 so that is pretty cool. 2 are my days off 1 is vacation and the other 2 are holidays. Hooray for me! I plan to do a whole lotta nothing! Maybe clean, we are going to a family get together saturday , which will be fun ( as always ) and then the 4th of July Tuesday but everything in between is going to be sweet relaxation!! OH YEA... - lol- o.k anyways I am stupid.

Going to finish my night at work... break is almost over.

Our upsetting news

Friday morning started off crazy all together. We had the guy coming to check out the Air conditioner to see what was wrong with it at 7AM!! That is way early for me getting off at midnight. Not so much for Steven since he is used to working a normal schedule. So the guy comes and the gods get left in the bedroom with me. This was a horrible idea because all they do is bark and jump on and off the bed, This makes it difficult who wants to get another hour sleep. So, figuring I am already stirring from telling the dogs to be quiet, I crawl my exhausted butt out of bed. It was actually not too bad.. I made pancakes around 8 ish or so. They were Yummy.

The heating guys said the worst thing that could happen, happen !! The compressor is bad, He gave our landlord an estimate of 1,800 over the phone. However replacing the whole unit would be the most cost effective thing to do. So, they decided to do that. All said and done.. they ended up with a 6,000 total. This all could not have happen at a worse time. It broke the week we are to be getting all this 107* temps. Yikes. We have every ceiling fan and house fan we have going and it is still pretty much horrible. And to think I get so hot and irritated getting ready for work.. I can see this is going to me a mess during the week!

We all decide to take a cat nap , since we were all up pretty much at 7 or shortly after.... steven wakes up from his nap about 10 min before me or so... What was turning out to be a pretty laid back day ... turned into getting a call no children want to ever get. Steven's phone rang and it was his mom.... Giving news that Steven's dad tested positive for Cancer. Needless to say it was a very emotional morning. We all took showers and got cleaned up to head over and visit with them. Surprisingly he was doing wonderful. He said he kinda had a feeling, but was not sure.

After talking we found out that the cancer has not spread from what we know. It was caught early. There are different treatments that can be done, It is pretty much choosing the right one for him. They will be reading some books on this and deciding what the best choice might be. We are very hopeful!! Steven's dad being in good health with eating good and exercising I think is in his favor. We pray for a positing out come!

Oh boy or Girl !

After a while of asking Steven for another baby and someone for Andrew to play with, he said no. He wanted to buy a house first. That was understandable, however with housing prices as high and as horrible as they are I could care less if we bought or not ( at this point at least). I dropped the issue. A couple months later this was in April, he said that he thinks that he changed his mind on something. he tried walking about with this little smirk on his face, but I was like oh no! You cannot say that and then walk away! So he told me that he thinks it would be a nice Idea if we had another one! I was so shocked. Normally when Steven sets his mind on something there really is no changing it. I was so ecstatic!!! It was perfect timing. I had just finished my monthly and was supposed to start my next months pack of birth Control. I pretty much threw what was left out. Steven decided that he did not want to tell anyone until we had conceived.

That weekend was Emma's B-day Skate party. Sure enough not even an hour in to it. Someone asks when we were having another one. Steven and I look at one another and kinda smile and say the usual next year maybe. Which would have been the case when he originally said no. I did not want the kids to be too far apart. So, 2 months of not saying anything he finally agrees to share the news. We told Steven's Parents Friday and told my family today. Both sides were just thrilled!

We have been trying for 2 months now, that is how long it took when I conceived Andrew. I am expecting to actually conceive within the next 2 weeks. I have to say trying is always the fun part -lol. Andrew was a surprise, so when you know you are having "relations" for a particular reason it is more thrilling ( for me at least ) -lol-.

Anyways, Steven wants to name it Luke if it is a boy. I am not too thrilled with that name. We were tossing around the name Richard for a middle, but that is still open for discussion ;) just like the name Luke is hahaha. As for a girls name. If Andrew would have been a girl he would have been named Katelynn ( not sure how I would have spelled it ) I still very much like that name. However we are really liking the name Kendra for a girl. I am really wanting a girl this time. Steven insisted that it was a boy with Andrew and he was right, he got what he wanted the first time around! I hope god blesses me this time. Although I know it is up to him =) I can always be hopeful! There is nothing wrong with that, besides if we decide we do not want to have anymore. We will have a boy and a girl! So, you have to be on my side and wish for me a girl!

Will keep ya posted when we find out for sure if we have the bun in the oven! Hahaha

GOSH I HAVE WANTED TO SAY SOMETHING!! THIS BLOG WAS SO NICE TO BE ABLE TO POST!!

A Familiar Soul

I was thinking about this today and thought that is was so worth blogging about even thought it happen a few months ago. It is such a tingly experience for me that I thought it would be cool to come back and read some years down the road.

So....many, many, many, many, many years ago when I was like 2 -3 or so we used to live in these apartments. From what the parental units told me there was a man that lived next door that my dad and mom were friends with, he was recently divorced and had a little girl right around my age. Naturally my parents move and did not really keep in touch with them.

Lifes moving on... In present time. I dated then married Steven meeting some of his amazing family. One person in particular was Erin. She was Steven's cousins girlfriend at the time. When I first met her I kept asking her what school's she might have gone to ? Where she worked ect... There was just something about her that was familiar, like I have seen her , met her somewhere else. So, after some time it was nothing and we would always talk and hang out at family functions and so on.

She now prepares taxes working for her dad in his office. So, she has been doing ours. My parents were looking for a new accountant because the one they had was a fortune! I referred them to Roitman Tax services because they were reasonably priced and the obvious family. Which means they were someone my parents could trust..

On the day of there appointment they of course arrived and Hank was there, Erin's dad. They met and did the usual handshake , Erin began preparing there taxes and having conversation. My mom stated to Erin that her dad looked so familiar. She told her that he reminder her of a man that use to live next door to them about 22 years ago or so. She said that he had a daughter around my age and we used to play together. My mom mentioned the name of the apartments and Erin asked if they had ever lived there. Turns out they did. At that point it totally clicked to my mom that Hank was that neighbor and Erin was that little girl that I used to play with when I was like 2 years old!!! It was really neat for my parents because they felt the same thing , like they knew him from somewhere! Now, all these years that Erin and I have felt like we have always known each other and wondered why we were such familiar souls to one another ... we find out that we used to be play buddies when we were way little. and 22 -23 years later we are now cousins by marriage! How flippin neat is that?

I think it is amazing !! It is funny how small a world it is and that we always had a funny but wonderful vibe about each other. It was totally neat. To think had I of never met, dated and married Steven we would have most likely never been brought together!

"SanFransicko" June 16

Friday we decided to take a drive to the bay to the aquarium was excited because with all the stressing I have been doing it is nice to get away with my love and baby. The Aquarium actually relocated for construction of the original location in golden Gate Park to Downtown. We got there with no traffic but we took a different way this time and it was long and I did not like it at all. Anyways, We got to the aquarium and I tell ya I was disappointed. I remember there being so much more. The crocks were gone and it seemed like it was half the size as it was last time. Andrew seems to enjoy it. We got to seem some fish and some snakes. The Penguins were really cute too. It was so small we were actually not there long at all. We stopped in the gift shop on the way out. Andrew wanted this silly robot claw clamp thing, and I got a Penguin magnet. I like to get a magnet for the different places we visit.

Off to Fisherman's Warf we went. Steven wanted to go on a Bay Cruise and I really did not want to. I think I was more irritated at the fact that it was not apart of the plan or the trip! Then we had to pay like 12.00 for parking that I was miffed about too - Whatever! I hate SF for that. We stopped at the sports shop since we had a 45 min wait to board the boat. We got Andrew a SF Giants shirt and a matching sippy cup. Then we spent a fortune and Ms. Fields and got some Icee's and cookies! Yum.....

We headed over to board the boat. Andrew was pretty content the whole time. He enjoyed every minute of it! We got some awesome pictures ( I will have to load the later, they are on the computer at home). It was about an hour ride give or take.
Once the board docked we headed over to golden gate park to enjoy the yummy lunch that I was up until 2 am ish packing.
I make us turkey, chicken and PBJ sammys. With some chips fruit snacks, fruit, sting cheese and yogurt. We did not eat all of that of course , but wanted to make sure there were Plenty of goodies if anyone got the munchies. The Park was so nice. Absolutely perfect. It was breezy but still very warm. The weather there was amazing. It was like it almost was not SF. No clouds or smog to be seen. On top of that it was amazinly warm for the bay!

We headed home at a horrible time ( It was about 4ish) We got caught in some traffic. Not too much but none the less when you are sitting in a car in what feels like 100* temperature. It can be pretty yucky. We made it home at about 7:30 ish or so. We were all pretty pooped! Andrew did not nap at all so he went out almost the second his head hit Thomas!

Andrew says Sanfransisco "Sanfransicko". Too cute!

Happy Monday

Today was such a fast day, Which is good as far as kicking off my week is concerned. We woke up and got ready to go to the twins baptism reception. I wanted to go to church since I can never get to go on Sundays. It would not be an enjoyable and spiritual experience with having to juggle Andrew all by myself. We went and saw the twins and all the family. I love seeing the family. With mine as small as it is, I surely take advantage of the family time with Steven's. They are such a loving and fun bunch. My family can learn a thing of two from them about what family really means. Anywho... We got to eat some yummy food and Cake .. the cake was absolutely yummy. I never knew Sam's made such delicious cake. Seeing all the babies was nice too. The twins looked so beautiful in there pure white dresses. I did not get to hold them this time, they were eating mostly and then with Grandma and Grandpa the other time.

I felt so unrelaxed because I had to watch the clock so I could leave on time. I wish I did not have to go to work ... I almost requested partial time off too. Oh, well.. better that we went for a couple hours than not at all. I forgot there card too ( Sorry Kristi, maybe we can use that as an excuse to bring it to you Friday afternoon or something ?....) So, here I am at work. Pray that the night will zoom by for me!!!

Relaxing weekend concluded

Saturday was a nice quiet day too. We started the morning off pretty laid back with some breakfast. I did some laundry and we lounged around watching some soccer. After doing some minor house work.. making the bed, sweeping the floor , dishes ect. We got dressed to go exchange some shorts that I had got Andrew last weekend that were too big. I got him a 4T ( silly me) He wears a 4T shirt but I guess I did not realize how skinny my boy was. He is a 24 month in bottoms I guess. I swore he was at least a 3T.. I really think he is slimming out because he has always big so big in size. So we took a drive to Arden to exchange them, we ended up picking up a few more pairs of shorts for the summer. All the other ones we have are getting tad bit snug. We called uncle Benji and Aunt Kristi to see if we can stop by , visit and hang out but they were going to a wedding. That is what happens when do things spur of the moment, besides we were going to see them the next day so it was o.k. After cruising the mall for a bit we headed back home making a brief stop at Albertsons for some milk, chips and a tomato for our hamburgers we were going to BBQ.

When we got home we feed Andrew some lunch, Chips and a PBJ ( what a surprise! ) Then off to take a nap. I relaxed for a tad with Steven watching some TV and doing some more chores here and there. After a bit Steven fired up the BBQ again and we started our hamburgers. We hung out in the back yard some enjoying the quiet time while Andrew napped. We enjoyed our burgers and just cleaned up dinner. Shortly after Andrew woke up from his nap , just in time too. Grandma and Grandpa were on there way over. He had about 5 minutes to wake up and they arrived. We all just hung out watched some TV , Grandma and Grandpa has a brownie..... They headed out around 8ish. Andrew played some more trains while I cleaned up a little more... ( that seems like all I did , sheesh *lol*) Then it was time for Andrew to hit the hay! Daddy cleaned up for bed and I just watched Little people big world.... tucking away to bed at about 12:30 am.

Finally a relaxing weekend

It has been a while since I have had a weekend where that was nothing pressing that we had to do. At least that prevented me from getting things done or just making it for an exhausting week because you had no rest time. You know, just your average busy family. It normally gets like that for us starting in february and runs in spurts through the year. So, it was nice to be able to spend Friday and Saturday home not having to go anywhere. We BBQ's both of those days which was way nice. Since I am not home during the week for dinner I like to take advantage of that time when I am home and make them some good meals.

Friday morning we started it off bright and early at 7:30 -8, we took Andrew to see the movie Cars. We saw the first showing at 9:30 and I tell ya, if you hate packed movie's that is the way to go. When we pulled into the parking lot I thought there as not going to be anyone in the movie. There were some but certainly not half full. At first Andrew was watching the previews. I am sure thinking that the screen was huge. He was in and out of the movie. The first 20 min or so were solid he watched it for the most part. Then about 30 min or so he was squirming... talking... saying he wanted juice...I finally got a popcorn request, and stepped out and got a medium. That kept him quiet for a little bit and we all 3 eat some while Andrew held the bag the whole time. I was actually surprised he did not hog the bag. After that was no longer of interest it was back to talking and moving from daddy's lap back to mama's . Finally plopping him back in the middle seat. By about half way through the movie he had already worked off his sox and shoes - lol-. I was not surprised at all actually. It was a really cute movie actually. It was certainly a fun family time , but we know now that we will wait a couple more years for the movie thing.

After that we went home and we filled up Andrew's little pool in the back yard. It is nothing compared to uncle Tom's mini Water world, but he had a good time. My brother called me while getting Andrew's swim trunks on to ask for a ride him. It was his last day of school and did not want to carry all his stuff home ( 2 binders and 2 sweaters ) what a burden that would have been. However , I was sympathetic because it was hot and his last day of school. Besides he has a job now so I feel more willing to help him out with things. So , Andrew swam while I took off for about 15 min. When I can back I sat out back for a bit then moving in to the house after the sun got to me. Watched a little TV keeping an eye on my baby. After an hour or so I brought him in for lunch. He had his usual PBJ sammmy ( sandwich). And then off to a nice little nap he went. We all took a nap actually. After being attacked by Frank trying to get in my bed .. Since Steven was already there nice and comfy with both Dogs... Frank did not want me to disturb * rolling eyes* , I just went and laid with Andrew, which I think he liked.
So, we all napped for a couple hours. We , fired of the BBQ to make some chicken while Grandma and Papa stopped by. They actually took them bye bye with them for a couple hours. Thought it would be nice for a quiet time dinner with Steven. Turned out he was actually sour at me for letting him go. A nice dinner turned into just being ignored =(. They dropped him back off Steven had the idea to go to the park. Off we went with the soccer ball. It was so much fun... was nice and cool ... Andrew was being a crabby patty because me and daddy were kicking the ball back and forth. Andrew's idea of soccer is picking up the ball, running , and then dropping it and giving it a little kick ... -lol- It was kinda cute! After that we just headed back home... Andrew played his Thomas trains and mama cooked Brownies while daddy watched some TV. Andrew later had a bath that he was a rotten egg about. But once it was over and back to playing trains he was fine.

I do not like when Andrew is sick

Friday and Saturday we went swimming pretty much all day long for both of these days. Andrew just enjoys the water so much. Since we have transitioned into this big boy bed he has been getting up at the most horrible hours. Saturday for example he got up at like 6:15. Which sucks for us. We end up having to run him back into bed. Sometimes he falls back asleep and sometimes it takes a few times of getting on him. On Saturday I think he only fell back to sleep for an hour or so? Leaving him exhauted through the whole day. He hardly wanted to swim , which is not like him at all. And he ended up taking a nap on Uncle Tom's bamboo Outdoor furniture. He literally laid there lethargic for some time, eventually falling to sleep for a short nap. I noticed he was just burning up hot. It was hard to tell if it was from the sun or really had a fever and was not feeling good. But getting home saturday night he was still burning up and was very very lethargic. I gave him some Motrin and put him to bed with a cold rag. He woke up about 2 times in the early night crying, I could tell he was just so uncomfortable and exhausted at the same time. Nothing I was doing would soothe him. I just talked to him and put new cold rags on his head....

I always get so upset whe he gets like this. When he is at this age when he knows he does not feel good, but really cannot quite tell me in his own words what is wrong. He woke up today as if he was a new little boy. He had Trix for breakfast and decided to dump an orage Gatoraid in his cereal - yuck- I am hoping he eat all the cereal before he did this.

Andrew loves the water

So, we always let Andrew play outside, and one of the rules is that he has to stay on the cement. I was inside as he was out thinking to myself it is too quiet.. I wonder what that guy is up to. Going outside to check, he was not in sight. At least not on the cement where he should be.... so I got around the back of the house and there is Andrew... Fully clothed... playing in the water. He discovered how to turn the nozzle on. He was having a jolly good ol time!! Now, this is no surprise to me because my son loves the water. At the age of almost 3 , he freely swims the pool with just arm floaties on. Maybe I am just over reacting, but I do not know any other child of that age that will do that?
