An old blog I wanted to document here...

** Originally blogged at Multiply site on March 14 2006 at 9:20 pm**

The coolest think happen to me on Feb 28 , but to some might be strange. I am just a firm believer that god speaks to you in different ways sometimes. So, after dropping my beautiful son off at Day care today , I did one of my favorite things and got a Iced Gingerbread Coffee from Starbucks, at the same time talking to my uncle whom I used to be extremely close to, but not owns his own business and I now have a family of my own, which means not so much anymore =(. O.k... back to the main point. So, I order my coffee, and then pull up to pay, the guy at the window says..." So here is the deal, the lady that was in front of you ( and I say yea..) She asked what you ordered and said she wanted to pay for it and told me to tell you God Bless." Now some of you might be asking what is the big deal? But with all that is going on in my life right now ( which is for the most part , Great!) This is a really big deal to me. Not to mention that I am a big believer that god speaks to you in different ways, yes, even with a coffee!!

Thanks for reading my blog !! Tootles ~

Hubby is back, babies turn & cooler days

Hubby is back from LA being gone for 3 days. I missed him, we are rarely away for a long period of time and when we go away it is normally with each other. He came back with quite a bit of stuff. He is into the whole baseball/ football card thing now ( again). I hope something good comes of it. I am glad he is home and I am glad he got away and had a good time with his cousin's.

It is babies turn now. He is going camping with Grandma and Grandpa. I am goign to miss him so much. I am not even going to be able to call him to hear his voice =(. 4 whole days with a quiet house, with the exception of the dogs. They got a new tent top and are going to test it out and check out a new camp site for the trip we will have at the end of August ( hopefully at least ).

Hopefully they will come back with some pictures of Andrew camping.

COOLER DAYS

We finally got a break from the so called Heat Wave we have been having. I am giving my Air conditioner a break from the constant usage ( and my smud bill at that - lol-) Not to mention that cold air blowing on you all the time is not healthy. The past few days have been absolutely beautiful. We have dropped back into the 90's and have not gone over for a few days. At night we have been having a awesome delta breeze. That is my favorite thing about where we live. To top it off, all this coming week we will not go over 100. The highest it will be is 96. YAY!!

I'm talking 'bout a Heat Wave

Can we say bloody HOT!! Today is a scorching 109 !! At least this is what i just saw on the news. And let me tell you I am feeling every degree of it. It is sick! You cannot even go outside without gasping for air. This is the one time I can tell you that I have no problem staying in doors.

We woke up this morning and headed out by 10 am to do a few things and let me tell you the earlier is not better. It was already smoldering by that time. We went to take some of daddies shirts to the cleaners so they would be ready for this trip wednesday. Then we stopped off and got some dog food for the wieners. After that we stopped off at Sports Authority to see if we could find some shoes for Andrew. He had grown out of the ones he for for X-mas and really needed a new pair. I have been having a hard time finding some because I am the pickier one when it comes to things like that. Daddy likes the bright Orange and purple deals. We were in luck ! We actually found 2 pairs of shoes for Andrew... The first pair was only 16.00 and they were Nike. So I was like what the hell get him another. We found the second pair of Adidas. They are adorable! Then mommy and daddy got a pair of Flip Flops each. Daddies are green and look like Astro Turf - lol no kidding either! And mommies are simple black with a bit of pink. They are OP's , I told opie and he was excited because they are named after him, just spelled different =)'.

Later in the afternoon I called my mom for our weekend chat. She was on her way out to get a pedicure and her and my dad offered to treat me to one. Since I have been sick and all I needed a little out time. 5 days in the house laying around is not fun. Now my toes are beautiful. I even got some flowers on my big toes!

I started to do some house work .. some laundry, nothing heavy. Needed to get some towels done. We finished off our night with Grandpa Tom and Grandma Carmen Visiting. We all got in bed.. Steven was out fast, but I stayed up and watched Erin Brockovich. Love Julia Roberts and love that movie. I finally called it a night tossing and turning until I ignored the heat long enough to fall asleep.

A house of sicko's

Last Saturday when Andrew and I were shopping at the Folsom outlets with my parents I started to get a sore throat. It was funny because the day before that I told Carmen that I had not got my "yearly" Sinus infection that I ALWAYS get. I knocked on wood of course. Some help that was. After shopping Papa took us all out for lunch. Grandma started to not feel so well, she did not even eat her lunch she ordered. I felt bad for her cause you could tell she did not feel so hot. But she toughed it out while we all eat, Andrew being our entertainment of course. I actually think that helped Grandma get through lunch.

That Sunday My dad called and said that they were at the hospital ALL night. Grandma had it coming out all ends if you know what I mean... My friend Chai came to the rescue and watched Andrew for a couple hours until Daddy got off work. It worked out great because she lived right across the street!! As the days progressed so did that little sore throat that I had. Monday I was fevering bad had the chills. I was freezing my ass off at work so bad to the point that it hurt. I tired to schedule some sick time off to rest and go to the Doctors but sure enough that was denied. So, I had no choice but to call in sick and get an incident. I went to the doctors Tuesday morning and oddly enough still do not know exactly what it is... He started telling me that in the near... very near future he sees me needing to sleep with a C-pap. Which my Dad sleeps with because he has a snoring problem and has quit breathing in his sleep. I am not sure what that had to do with the condition that I currently have, however, I know my chest did not sound too good when he was listening to it.I was having pains when I took deep breathes. I believe it was something related to what my mom had, a viral infection. I left there with 4 prescriptions to fill. Only filling 3 of them. Once my insurance would not cover and was sold over the counter anyways, but it was just to break down mucus. I was more concerned with the pain in my chest from my coughing attacks. That is the most horrible pain- ouch! I was almost in tears last night and the night before it was so damn bad. I am feeling about 60% better today. I still get sweat spells trying to do the smallest things. So I have been taking it easy. The doctor has me out through the weekend to rest anyways, I am sure I will be 100% by Sunday. I am sick of laying around the house. -lol- but the rest has been much needed and appreciated. I would never have been able to work like this, I am sure I would have passed out at my desk. Wednesday was the absolute worst of it - I almost passed out twice, and I think it was because Andrew was home with me. He should of gone to Grandma's or something. I was in bed no joke ALL day. I felt horrible just leaving him to play trains and watch Dora, Blue's clues and Bob the builder over and over. He was sure glad to see daddy who gave him some attention =).

Waking up today Andrew was really warm himself. I knew it was going to happen. He is getting sick. He has been real low key today. Resting a lot. He even took an early nap considering he got up some what late. I have been giving him the motrin which seems to break his fever here and there. Steven has 2 sick babies on his hands now. I can only do so much because I am still pretty weak. But I love it when he is sick because he was lots of snuggles and cuddles =). On the other hand it kills me to see him so uncomfortable especially when I know exactly how he feels. I will be keeping an eye on his condition, If he gets worse I will be taking him to see his Dr. because the faster he can heal the better. I do not want him going through the weekend how I was.

We are trying to keep from Daddy getting sick He NEVER gets sick when I do anyways, But he has his trip he has bee planning and is looking very much forward to, I do not want him to have to cancel or go feeling this way, no fun at all. So, lets keep our fingers crossed he has a better immune system then Andrew and I.

Swimming lessons

Andrew has completed his Turtle swimming lessons. We had 4 classes from the 11th-14th. Andrew is a fish, he has no problem going down the slide and going under water, or swimming around the pool alone with his floaties. He is quite brave. The skills in this class are pretty basic. But Andrew the whole time wanted me to let him go so he could swim independently. Of course he could not do that. I really enjoyed this class with him because it was some good solid bonding with him and something that we did together mommy and baby. He loved his instructor , Kelly.... he was such a flirt!

Poor Reds

Steven has been craving some Ribs from Poor Reds. It is off 50 in Eldorado. I think that is in or near Placerville. I have never been , Steven has gone before with his parents some time ago. We went with Steven's parents. We got there around 4:30 ish but the place did not open for dinner until 5. It is a bar but in the back there is an area with table so you can eat. The menu is small but I have to say the food was not that bad. Since we were early we had to wait in the front bar. When you walk in, is stinks, it is kinda an old smell... I dunno if that is the right word? The place was pretty packed. People drinking of course. There was this guy there, It was clear that he had been there for some time if you catch my drift. He was really loud and he kept slamming his hand on the bar and laughing, It was pretty loud. So, he comes our way ( he was headed to the men's room ) I could not get Andrew to stay still for anything. He was hopping from seat to seat. So, this guy comes along ( and of course since he is a little ....tipsy ? ) He decides to talk to Andrew. He is slamming his boots and giving him some Hi- fives and being really loud and was really close to Andrew.. like in his face. I think Andrew was not too sure about him. He was giving him Hi-fives but none the less was like who the hell are you? He finally heads off to the bathroom and Andrew was a little taken back by him I think because he wanted me and was doing not allowing me to remove my arms from around him. Well, out this gut comes from the bathroom.. and yep, you bet he stopped AGAIN to talk to Andrew. lol. We soon find out his name is Jack.. he stayed a little longer this time , talking to Andrew. Showing him his cowboy boots. Andrew got a kick out of that because he has a pair that he just loves. Andrew talked his ear of for a bit. Jack went back to his seat and you could tell he was talking about Andrew from across the way.. I mean he is too cute , of course he was right? lol ....j/k! Here comes Jack again. He gets real close to me and puts his arms up as if someone was going to pin you to the wall and in my ear asks if Andrew can have a Roy Rogers. He wanted to buy him a drink -lol. I was not sure what that was so I asked him and I said sure as long as Andrew wanted it of course!
BOY did Andrew want it. Since he had already made buddies with Jack , you can say that Andrew was quick to take the offering. Jack helped Andrew take the first few sips since the glass was full and Andrew's eyes got really big. I must say I tried it and that thing was pretty tasty. I see why Andrew was enjoying it. Andrew gave him a big Thank you! That kept him occupied until we got out table. It was may 3 min and it was ready. However, man oh man did we pay. That guy was so wired off that thing he yapped the whole way home! And then some !! It he did not have a nap either so he was in bed promptly at 8pm. So... here I am blogging our day.

On the way home we stopped at Sam's Club since I have never been. Pretty much the same as Costco ( which we were at earlier that day for grocery shopping) We got a case of butt wipes, some pens, a Cars book for Andrew and some Grape jelly. Costco only has Strawberry, Steven likes the Grape - lol-.

For the record I must say that Poor Reds is good, but I do not think there Chicken can touch my daddies =))).

4th of July

We had a wonderful holiday. What was even more better about the whole thing was I had 5 days off! I enjoyed every one of them !! You always want more though so that is the only thing that stinks.

We all gathered at my parents house this year. It was nice because normally every year we have o split the visits. half the day and my parents and half at Steven's. Someone always ends up getting shorted on time and I am tired of that. It is draining. So, everyone came to one house and we all spent it together. I mean why not? They all know one another. It was me, Steven, Andrew, My mom, dad and brother, Steven's mom and Dad, my grandma and grandpa, Uncle Kenny, uncle Vince, Trish, Uncle Bob Aunt Wendy , cousin Robbi, and my brothers friend stopped by too.

We had tons of food. Burgers and Hot dogs, a broccoli dish, baked beans, corn on the cob , potaoe salad, fruit.... and I am leaving something out but oh well. It was nice in Elk Grove because we had a wonderful breeze. what was funny though when we were doing Fireworks, it was so chilly, we were all wearing sweates and throw blankets -lol- In July !! Fireworks lasted for a while. We all sat and relaxed, some going back to get some more food, others enjoying desert.

Andrew loved the Fireworks. He was fine as long as he was as far away as possible enjoying them. My brother and cousin were the ones lighting them. so, every single time Andrew wanted them to pick him up off my aunts lap, take him over to the table, let him pick the next fire work and then set him back on her lap.

The did some cool stuff too... they taped and hammered some Picalo Pete's and put it under a bucket and lit it. It was so funny. The bucket flew in the air and it was LOUD!

The fourth of july ended my 5 day mini vacation... I cannot wait for another!

Air, Pilates and R&R

After a week with a broken air conditioner and sweating my ass off with every move I made at home.. The air has finally been fixed. Seems they just replaced the compressor. Which is what was broken in the first place. They were going to replace the whole unit.. I guess it was cheaper? Anyways, none the less there is cold air blowing in my house and that is all that matters. It was funny because the house was so cold last night sleeping. But I did not care because I kept reminding myself of how hot I have been.

Today , I was pulled ;)' down stairs for a class with my old manager ( miss her dearly ) , not that we do not see each other, but .. she is nothing short of wonderful and I miss reporting to her. Anyways, she we go to this Pilates class together, and let me tell you. I have not worked a muscle in my body sine I cannot remember. I want to say Jr. High? Maybe I am blowing out of proportion, but you get the picture. Me = no exercise in a LONG time. I really need to change that though, hence why I went to the class. I have to tell you.. It kicked my ASS !!! I do not think that is the class to start working out with, It was so much. #1 I did it in the clothes I had to work in for the remainder of the day #2 I sweat like a fat man in a sauna # 3 I hate to walk around with a mop ( my a hair ) pulled up in a soppy sweaty bun. Shall we say NASTY? Yea, so there will be no more working out for me
(at work) without a gym bag and some showerwash. BUT I have to gave myself some credit for actually going down there and giving it a shot, I was brave !

After that class, and my work day , I get to enjoy 5 whole days off !! This will probably be the last little time away I get until the baby is born. I want to save the vacation time for an extra week at home for bonding time =). Actually, we will be going camping in August.. so that will actually be the last time. Luckily I am only using 1 vacation day for these 5 so that is pretty cool. 2 are my days off 1 is vacation and the other 2 are holidays. Hooray for me! I plan to do a whole lotta nothing! Maybe clean, we are going to a family get together saturday , which will be fun ( as always ) and then the 4th of July Tuesday but everything in between is going to be sweet relaxation!! OH YEA... - lol- o.k anyways I am stupid.

Going to finish my night at work... break is almost over.

Our upsetting news

Friday morning started off crazy all together. We had the guy coming to check out the Air conditioner to see what was wrong with it at 7AM!! That is way early for me getting off at midnight. Not so much for Steven since he is used to working a normal schedule. So the guy comes and the gods get left in the bedroom with me. This was a horrible idea because all they do is bark and jump on and off the bed, This makes it difficult who wants to get another hour sleep. So, figuring I am already stirring from telling the dogs to be quiet, I crawl my exhausted butt out of bed. It was actually not too bad.. I made pancakes around 8 ish or so. They were Yummy.

The heating guys said the worst thing that could happen, happen !! The compressor is bad, He gave our landlord an estimate of 1,800 over the phone. However replacing the whole unit would be the most cost effective thing to do. So, they decided to do that. All said and done.. they ended up with a 6,000 total. This all could not have happen at a worse time. It broke the week we are to be getting all this 107* temps. Yikes. We have every ceiling fan and house fan we have going and it is still pretty much horrible. And to think I get so hot and irritated getting ready for work.. I can see this is going to me a mess during the week!

We all decide to take a cat nap , since we were all up pretty much at 7 or shortly after.... steven wakes up from his nap about 10 min before me or so... What was turning out to be a pretty laid back day ... turned into getting a call no children want to ever get. Steven's phone rang and it was his mom.... Giving news that Steven's dad tested positive for Cancer. Needless to say it was a very emotional morning. We all took showers and got cleaned up to head over and visit with them. Surprisingly he was doing wonderful. He said he kinda had a feeling, but was not sure.

After talking we found out that the cancer has not spread from what we know. It was caught early. There are different treatments that can be done, It is pretty much choosing the right one for him. They will be reading some books on this and deciding what the best choice might be. We are very hopeful!! Steven's dad being in good health with eating good and exercising I think is in his favor. We pray for a positing out come!

Oh boy or Girl !

After a while of asking Steven for another baby and someone for Andrew to play with, he said no. He wanted to buy a house first. That was understandable, however with housing prices as high and as horrible as they are I could care less if we bought or not ( at this point at least). I dropped the issue. A couple months later this was in April, he said that he thinks that he changed his mind on something. he tried walking about with this little smirk on his face, but I was like oh no! You cannot say that and then walk away! So he told me that he thinks it would be a nice Idea if we had another one! I was so shocked. Normally when Steven sets his mind on something there really is no changing it. I was so ecstatic!!! It was perfect timing. I had just finished my monthly and was supposed to start my next months pack of birth Control. I pretty much threw what was left out. Steven decided that he did not want to tell anyone until we had conceived.

That weekend was Emma's B-day Skate party. Sure enough not even an hour in to it. Someone asks when we were having another one. Steven and I look at one another and kinda smile and say the usual next year maybe. Which would have been the case when he originally said no. I did not want the kids to be too far apart. So, 2 months of not saying anything he finally agrees to share the news. We told Steven's Parents Friday and told my family today. Both sides were just thrilled!

We have been trying for 2 months now, that is how long it took when I conceived Andrew. I am expecting to actually conceive within the next 2 weeks. I have to say trying is always the fun part -lol. Andrew was a surprise, so when you know you are having "relations" for a particular reason it is more thrilling ( for me at least ) -lol-.

Anyways, Steven wants to name it Luke if it is a boy. I am not too thrilled with that name. We were tossing around the name Richard for a middle, but that is still open for discussion ;) just like the name Luke is hahaha. As for a girls name. If Andrew would have been a girl he would have been named Katelynn ( not sure how I would have spelled it ) I still very much like that name. However we are really liking the name Kendra for a girl. I am really wanting a girl this time. Steven insisted that it was a boy with Andrew and he was right, he got what he wanted the first time around! I hope god blesses me this time. Although I know it is up to him =) I can always be hopeful! There is nothing wrong with that, besides if we decide we do not want to have anymore. We will have a boy and a girl! So, you have to be on my side and wish for me a girl!

Will keep ya posted when we find out for sure if we have the bun in the oven! Hahaha

GOSH I HAVE WANTED TO SAY SOMETHING!! THIS BLOG WAS SO NICE TO BE ABLE TO POST!!

A Familiar Soul

I was thinking about this today and thought that is was so worth blogging about even thought it happen a few months ago. It is such a tingly experience for me that I thought it would be cool to come back and read some years down the road.

So....many, many, many, many, many years ago when I was like 2 -3 or so we used to live in these apartments. From what the parental units told me there was a man that lived next door that my dad and mom were friends with, he was recently divorced and had a little girl right around my age. Naturally my parents move and did not really keep in touch with them.

Lifes moving on... In present time. I dated then married Steven meeting some of his amazing family. One person in particular was Erin. She was Steven's cousins girlfriend at the time. When I first met her I kept asking her what school's she might have gone to ? Where she worked ect... There was just something about her that was familiar, like I have seen her , met her somewhere else. So, after some time it was nothing and we would always talk and hang out at family functions and so on.

She now prepares taxes working for her dad in his office. So, she has been doing ours. My parents were looking for a new accountant because the one they had was a fortune! I referred them to Roitman Tax services because they were reasonably priced and the obvious family. Which means they were someone my parents could trust..

On the day of there appointment they of course arrived and Hank was there, Erin's dad. They met and did the usual handshake , Erin began preparing there taxes and having conversation. My mom stated to Erin that her dad looked so familiar. She told her that he reminder her of a man that use to live next door to them about 22 years ago or so. She said that he had a daughter around my age and we used to play together. My mom mentioned the name of the apartments and Erin asked if they had ever lived there. Turns out they did. At that point it totally clicked to my mom that Hank was that neighbor and Erin was that little girl that I used to play with when I was like 2 years old!!! It was really neat for my parents because they felt the same thing , like they knew him from somewhere! Now, all these years that Erin and I have felt like we have always known each other and wondered why we were such familiar souls to one another ... we find out that we used to be play buddies when we were way little. and 22 -23 years later we are now cousins by marriage! How flippin neat is that?

I think it is amazing !! It is funny how small a world it is and that we always had a funny but wonderful vibe about each other. It was totally neat. To think had I of never met, dated and married Steven we would have most likely never been brought together!

"SanFransicko" June 16

Friday we decided to take a drive to the bay to the aquarium was excited because with all the stressing I have been doing it is nice to get away with my love and baby. The Aquarium actually relocated for construction of the original location in golden Gate Park to Downtown. We got there with no traffic but we took a different way this time and it was long and I did not like it at all. Anyways, We got to the aquarium and I tell ya I was disappointed. I remember there being so much more. The crocks were gone and it seemed like it was half the size as it was last time. Andrew seems to enjoy it. We got to seem some fish and some snakes. The Penguins were really cute too. It was so small we were actually not there long at all. We stopped in the gift shop on the way out. Andrew wanted this silly robot claw clamp thing, and I got a Penguin magnet. I like to get a magnet for the different places we visit.

Off to Fisherman's Warf we went. Steven wanted to go on a Bay Cruise and I really did not want to. I think I was more irritated at the fact that it was not apart of the plan or the trip! Then we had to pay like 12.00 for parking that I was miffed about too - Whatever! I hate SF for that. We stopped at the sports shop since we had a 45 min wait to board the boat. We got Andrew a SF Giants shirt and a matching sippy cup. Then we spent a fortune and Ms. Fields and got some Icee's and cookies! Yum.....

We headed over to board the boat. Andrew was pretty content the whole time. He enjoyed every minute of it! We got some awesome pictures ( I will have to load the later, they are on the computer at home). It was about an hour ride give or take.
Once the board docked we headed over to golden gate park to enjoy the yummy lunch that I was up until 2 am ish packing.
I make us turkey, chicken and PBJ sammys. With some chips fruit snacks, fruit, sting cheese and yogurt. We did not eat all of that of course , but wanted to make sure there were Plenty of goodies if anyone got the munchies. The Park was so nice. Absolutely perfect. It was breezy but still very warm. The weather there was amazing. It was like it almost was not SF. No clouds or smog to be seen. On top of that it was amazinly warm for the bay!

We headed home at a horrible time ( It was about 4ish) We got caught in some traffic. Not too much but none the less when you are sitting in a car in what feels like 100* temperature. It can be pretty yucky. We made it home at about 7:30 ish or so. We were all pretty pooped! Andrew did not nap at all so he went out almost the second his head hit Thomas!

Andrew says Sanfransisco "Sanfransicko". Too cute!

Happy Monday

Today was such a fast day, Which is good as far as kicking off my week is concerned. We woke up and got ready to go to the twins baptism reception. I wanted to go to church since I can never get to go on Sundays. It would not be an enjoyable and spiritual experience with having to juggle Andrew all by myself. We went and saw the twins and all the family. I love seeing the family. With mine as small as it is, I surely take advantage of the family time with Steven's. They are such a loving and fun bunch. My family can learn a thing of two from them about what family really means. Anywho... We got to eat some yummy food and Cake .. the cake was absolutely yummy. I never knew Sam's made such delicious cake. Seeing all the babies was nice too. The twins looked so beautiful in there pure white dresses. I did not get to hold them this time, they were eating mostly and then with Grandma and Grandpa the other time.

I felt so unrelaxed because I had to watch the clock so I could leave on time. I wish I did not have to go to work ... I almost requested partial time off too. Oh, well.. better that we went for a couple hours than not at all. I forgot there card too ( Sorry Kristi, maybe we can use that as an excuse to bring it to you Friday afternoon or something ?....) So, here I am at work. Pray that the night will zoom by for me!!!

Relaxing weekend concluded

Saturday was a nice quiet day too. We started the morning off pretty laid back with some breakfast. I did some laundry and we lounged around watching some soccer. After doing some minor house work.. making the bed, sweeping the floor , dishes ect. We got dressed to go exchange some shorts that I had got Andrew last weekend that were too big. I got him a 4T ( silly me) He wears a 4T shirt but I guess I did not realize how skinny my boy was. He is a 24 month in bottoms I guess. I swore he was at least a 3T.. I really think he is slimming out because he has always big so big in size. So we took a drive to Arden to exchange them, we ended up picking up a few more pairs of shorts for the summer. All the other ones we have are getting tad bit snug. We called uncle Benji and Aunt Kristi to see if we can stop by , visit and hang out but they were going to a wedding. That is what happens when do things spur of the moment, besides we were going to see them the next day so it was o.k. After cruising the mall for a bit we headed back home making a brief stop at Albertsons for some milk, chips and a tomato for our hamburgers we were going to BBQ.

When we got home we feed Andrew some lunch, Chips and a PBJ ( what a surprise! ) Then off to take a nap. I relaxed for a tad with Steven watching some TV and doing some more chores here and there. After a bit Steven fired up the BBQ again and we started our hamburgers. We hung out in the back yard some enjoying the quiet time while Andrew napped. We enjoyed our burgers and just cleaned up dinner. Shortly after Andrew woke up from his nap , just in time too. Grandma and Grandpa were on there way over. He had about 5 minutes to wake up and they arrived. We all just hung out watched some TV , Grandma and Grandpa has a brownie..... They headed out around 8ish. Andrew played some more trains while I cleaned up a little more... ( that seems like all I did , sheesh *lol*) Then it was time for Andrew to hit the hay! Daddy cleaned up for bed and I just watched Little people big world.... tucking away to bed at about 12:30 am.

Finally a relaxing weekend

It has been a while since I have had a weekend where that was nothing pressing that we had to do. At least that prevented me from getting things done or just making it for an exhausting week because you had no rest time. You know, just your average busy family. It normally gets like that for us starting in february and runs in spurts through the year. So, it was nice to be able to spend Friday and Saturday home not having to go anywhere. We BBQ's both of those days which was way nice. Since I am not home during the week for dinner I like to take advantage of that time when I am home and make them some good meals.

Friday morning we started it off bright and early at 7:30 -8, we took Andrew to see the movie Cars. We saw the first showing at 9:30 and I tell ya, if you hate packed movie's that is the way to go. When we pulled into the parking lot I thought there as not going to be anyone in the movie. There were some but certainly not half full. At first Andrew was watching the previews. I am sure thinking that the screen was huge. He was in and out of the movie. The first 20 min or so were solid he watched it for the most part. Then about 30 min or so he was squirming... talking... saying he wanted juice...I finally got a popcorn request, and stepped out and got a medium. That kept him quiet for a little bit and we all 3 eat some while Andrew held the bag the whole time. I was actually surprised he did not hog the bag. After that was no longer of interest it was back to talking and moving from daddy's lap back to mama's . Finally plopping him back in the middle seat. By about half way through the movie he had already worked off his sox and shoes - lol-. I was not surprised at all actually. It was a really cute movie actually. It was certainly a fun family time , but we know now that we will wait a couple more years for the movie thing.

After that we went home and we filled up Andrew's little pool in the back yard. It is nothing compared to uncle Tom's mini Water world, but he had a good time. My brother called me while getting Andrew's swim trunks on to ask for a ride him. It was his last day of school and did not want to carry all his stuff home ( 2 binders and 2 sweaters ) what a burden that would have been. However , I was sympathetic because it was hot and his last day of school. Besides he has a job now so I feel more willing to help him out with things. So , Andrew swam while I took off for about 15 min. When I can back I sat out back for a bit then moving in to the house after the sun got to me. Watched a little TV keeping an eye on my baby. After an hour or so I brought him in for lunch. He had his usual PBJ sammmy ( sandwich). And then off to a nice little nap he went. We all took a nap actually. After being attacked by Frank trying to get in my bed .. Since Steven was already there nice and comfy with both Dogs... Frank did not want me to disturb * rolling eyes* , I just went and laid with Andrew, which I think he liked.
So, we all napped for a couple hours. We , fired of the BBQ to make some chicken while Grandma and Papa stopped by. They actually took them bye bye with them for a couple hours. Thought it would be nice for a quiet time dinner with Steven. Turned out he was actually sour at me for letting him go. A nice dinner turned into just being ignored =(. They dropped him back off Steven had the idea to go to the park. Off we went with the soccer ball. It was so much fun... was nice and cool ... Andrew was being a crabby patty because me and daddy were kicking the ball back and forth. Andrew's idea of soccer is picking up the ball, running , and then dropping it and giving it a little kick ... -lol- It was kinda cute! After that we just headed back home... Andrew played his Thomas trains and mama cooked Brownies while daddy watched some TV. Andrew later had a bath that he was a rotten egg about. But once it was over and back to playing trains he was fine.

I do not like when Andrew is sick

Friday and Saturday we went swimming pretty much all day long for both of these days. Andrew just enjoys the water so much. Since we have transitioned into this big boy bed he has been getting up at the most horrible hours. Saturday for example he got up at like 6:15. Which sucks for us. We end up having to run him back into bed. Sometimes he falls back asleep and sometimes it takes a few times of getting on him. On Saturday I think he only fell back to sleep for an hour or so? Leaving him exhauted through the whole day. He hardly wanted to swim , which is not like him at all. And he ended up taking a nap on Uncle Tom's bamboo Outdoor furniture. He literally laid there lethargic for some time, eventually falling to sleep for a short nap. I noticed he was just burning up hot. It was hard to tell if it was from the sun or really had a fever and was not feeling good. But getting home saturday night he was still burning up and was very very lethargic. I gave him some Motrin and put him to bed with a cold rag. He woke up about 2 times in the early night crying, I could tell he was just so uncomfortable and exhausted at the same time. Nothing I was doing would soothe him. I just talked to him and put new cold rags on his head....

I always get so upset whe he gets like this. When he is at this age when he knows he does not feel good, but really cannot quite tell me in his own words what is wrong. He woke up today as if he was a new little boy. He had Trix for breakfast and decided to dump an orage Gatoraid in his cereal - yuck- I am hoping he eat all the cereal before he did this.

Andrew loves the water

So, we always let Andrew play outside, and one of the rules is that he has to stay on the cement. I was inside as he was out thinking to myself it is too quiet.. I wonder what that guy is up to. Going outside to check, he was not in sight. At least not on the cement where he should be.... so I got around the back of the house and there is Andrew... Fully clothed... playing in the water. He discovered how to turn the nozzle on. He was having a jolly good ol time!! Now, this is no surprise to me because my son loves the water. At the age of almost 3 , he freely swims the pool with just arm floaties on. Maybe I am just over reacting, but I do not know any other child of that age that will do that?

The Gopher Snake

Yesterday my manger emailed me some pics of her children petting this Gopher snake that her husband brought home. Needless to say she was not so thrilled about this but at the same time not surprised. So, we finally just got Andrew comfortable with the whole snake thing. We bought him a fake one and he named it Banana's. It is a yellow life like one. He loves it now! So, I got this brilliant Idea to ask if he can bring it buy to show Andrew before he released it. So, today we waited for the snake to come visit Andrew. He was so excited, just a pinch hesitant at first but warmed up to it quite fast. He wanted to show his fake snake to the real snake! It was so cute. He said bye to it and thanked it for coming to visit him. We want him to be friendly with all creatures, but just do not want him wanting to go after one if he ever sees one.

Burnt Out

Lately I have been feeling so burnt out. And if I recall correctly I have felt this way since this nasty weather started to creep up. I went through a spell like this when we were having all that yucky weather in late April. I felt all depressed. I must say I do not enjoy the blistering heat but it sure beats the muggy overcast crap we have been having the past few days. I have been taking naps and feeling so exhausted and I normally do not feel like that, even getting off at 12am, I can normally get through a day o.k with no nap. After I take one I still feel dead. Hopefully this will pass once the sun comes out again... and stays ! Andrew has been acting different lately too ( since the weather change) he has had a runny nose and just today started coughing, but other than that he is just going through this I am not going to listen phase. It kinda irritates me because he is not like this at all, and not that I am thinking about it , as long as he has been acting like this is went that braty ass Justine came back to day care. I cannot stand that , but that is the price you pay for putting children in day care!

Andrew's Big Boy Bed

At 2 1/2 my son looks like he is about 3 or so. He is ( I think ) over due for a big boy bed. I have to admint I have been putting it off for some time. But Grandma and Grandpa have been trying to get me to take this full size bed and I was being a brat and wanted him to have a twin. Now... If he is going to be as tall as Daddy this is actually not really practical. Steven had a twin through adult and his feet hung off. So, I finally broke down and said o.k, I will take the bed. This is after checking on him one night and finding his feet hanging out throught the bars. So, Papa picked it up from Grandpa and Grandma McClain's house Saturday and I ordered his Thomas the Train sheet set. He made it a point today on our way out, since he saw his bed in the garage , to let me know that it was his bed. He just has to wait untilt his weekend when his sheets arrive. I figured I was not yet going to get the comforter because it is more so summer time and there will be no need for it. In the mean time he can use his Spongebob blanket for the cooler nights. I think he is going to love his new bed. On the other hand, this means less minutes for mommy in bed in the morning because he will now be able to get up and roam around. Maybe he will come in bed with me and sleep ( yea, I wish )
